Our Craft Club on 19th May was a fantastic success, with even more clients joining us for a creative afternoon. Clients and coaches enjoyed making beautiful floral wreaths, and the finished creations looked amazing!

It was wonderful to see everyone having fun, expressing their creativity, and spending time together. We absolutely love our Craft Club sessions, and judging by the smiles, our clients and coaches do too. 💙

On Thursday, CT and Coach Abbie enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea after CT won a voucher through the Bloom into Spring competition run by Visit Doncaster, which she entered during a previous session☺️

This was a fantastic opportunity for CT to engage in a new social activity that she had never experienced before, helping to further develop her confidence and independence. It also provided a chance to step outside of her comfort zone, communicating her needs confidently with staff throughout the experience. The afternoon also gave CT the opportunity to try a variety of new foods. She did brilliantly, giving foods a chance even when she initially thought she wouldn’t like them, and was pleasantly surprised to discover that she enjoy some of the items!

A wonderful afternoon filled with new experiences, growing confidence, and plenty of tasty treats. So proud of CT for embracing new challenges and making the most of this well-deserved prize! 🍰☕️

We are delighted to announce Stride as the shirt sponsor of Haxey Cricket Club across all teams and age groups.

We chose to support Haxey Cricket Club because of its unwavering commitment to inclusivity and accessibility within the game.

For many years, the club has welcomed and supported players and members with disabilities.

The club has developed strong links with Yorkshire disability cricket, with several players progressing to represent Yorkshire. At a time when disability cricket received limited attention across the county, Haxey built lasting relationships and championed the sport. More recently, the club hosted Lincolnshire's first S9/S1 fixture against Yorkshire, helping to drive the growth of disability cricket within the county.

A standout example of the club's inclusive culture was its partnership with a sign language teacher, enabling players and teammates to communicate effectively with a profoundly deaf player who went on to represent the club's 1st team.

We are proud that our sponsorship will help support Haxey Cricket Club's continued commitment to disability and inclusive cricket, ensuring that opportunities remain open to everyone, regardless of ability.

We look forward to being part of the club's journey and celebrating its success both on and off the field.

We are delighted to share Harry's Advance Employment Hub Pathways to Work story with you all.

Harry began his Stride journey through funding provided by the Pathways to Work programme. This funding created a valuable opportunity for Harry, who otherwise would not have accessed the pre-vocational support needed to prepare for a successful placement.

Working alongside his coach, Terri, Harry benefited from Stride's unique person centred coaching approach, taking part in three hours of one-to-one sessions each week. We are proud to offer a truly unique approach to achieving goals that doesn't involve generic job searching classes or, and our coaches have the time and the expertise to deliver on this. Through these sessions, Harry has developed his confidence, strengthened his social skills, and built valuable pre-employment skills.

Thanks to his hard work and dedication and Terri's fantastic coaching, Harry has achieved his dream of working in a gym. His journey is an example of how the right support can empower individuals to build confidence, develop new skills, and achieve their employment goals.

WELCOME TO STRIDING FORWARD CIC 💙

We're firm believers in that the right support can change everything, which is why Striding Forward was created.

Many neurodivergent adults struggle to access meaningful support and at Stride, we're here to change that.

Striding Forward CIC builds on the incredible community already developing around Stride. Our goal is to open these opportunities to even more neurodivergent adults across the wider community.

Through events, partnerships, social media and community projects, we want to create a platform where neurodivergent adults can be seen, heard and celebrated for who they are and what they can do. 💙

Meet Ben 👋

If you've visited Scene here at Stride, you might have had the pleasure of being served by Ben, aka, 'matcha man' ... (the name will stick one day)...

Having known Logan for several years, before Stride even existed, Ben turned for help when facing some tough challenges in life.

Through ongoing support, including through employment, Ben now describes himself as being "significantly happier".

A few weeks ago, the Stride team swapped desks for football boots as we took part in the Doncaster Chamber of Commerce Corporate Cup.

Going into the tournament, confidence was high and we were talking a good game. However, we were quickly pulled back down to reality when our goal tally may not have quite lived up to those expectations….

Still, the day served as a valuable reminder that taking part is what really matters. Admittedly, that perspective was a little harder to embrace while we were on the pitch… 🤣

Although our performance was poor, our clothes however were brilliant…. with a huge thanks to Christopher Clay for getting us kitted out and representing Stride in style! 😎

In all seriousness, we had a fantastic day. It was great to share a few laughs, meet new people, and catch up with other local businesses.

At Stride, we've placed a real emphasis on sport and community involvement this year through our sponsorship of Sheffield Eagles RLFC, Haxey Cricket Club, and the Scawthorpe Scorpions JFC Under-11 Girls team.

Whether you're neurodivergent or not, exercise plays a vital role in both physical and mental wellbeing. It's one of the best ways to build meaningful connections, strengthen communities, and create lasting friendships.

We're also working on something exciting in this space that we'll be sharing very soon, so keep your eyes peeled. 👀
