A Joint Police and Trading Standards operation took place today on Great North Road at Woodlands.

This resulted in the recovery of 900 packets of ci******es and 8.15kg of hand rolling to***co, which if sold at the products standard price would equate to over £8k, (although we are aware the price is usually reduced for these products) and trading standards are continuing with the criminal investigation into this.

Some people in the comments may say that this is a harmless crime but there are severe health concerns regarding these products as they contain extreme toxic contamination, with the products containing industrial fillers, lethal heavy metals and traces of animal droppings, dead flies and mold.
The money used in the sale of these products also funds violent organised crime that often involves modern slavery.

There are a number of ways to report the selling of illegal to***co;
Trading standards - 0808 223 1133
Crimestoppers - 0800555 111

FORTIFY: Seven people arrested on suspicion of money laundering in Doncaster drugs raid 🚔 🚨

Officers raided the address in the Highfields area of the city last Thursday (21 May) following suspicions it was linked to drug offences.

A thorough search of the property led to officers seizing a large sum of cash, multiple mobile phones, weighing scales and snappy bags.

Five men, aged between 20 and 35, and two women, aged 23 and 24, were arrested on suspicion of money laundering offences. They have since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Last Thursday's warrant was led by Doncaster's Operation Fortify team, who are responsible for dealing with serious violent crime and organised crime groups.

🗣️ Detective Chief Inspector Susannah Wagstaff said: "We are persistently gathering information and intelligence on those involved in organised crime networks in Doncaster, with an aim of targeting, disrupting and prosecuting those who threaten the safety of our communities.

"Money laundering is a serious offence that has been known to enable organised crime groups to further their operations. It is often linked to other serious offences and threatens to bring violence to people's doorsteps, which is something we will not tolerate.

"We will continue to pursue those involved in this kind of criminality and we welcome the public's cooperation when it comes to feeding us intelligence.

"The information you provide is crucial - it enables us to create cases, gather intelligence and carry out enforcement action to disrupt organised crime groups in Doncaster."

APPEAL: Investigation launched following fi****ms discharge in Doncaster

We are appealing for information following reports of a fi****ms discharge in Doncaster which has left a man with serious injuries.

Yesterday evening (Monday 18 May) at 6.22pm, we received reports that a man had been shot while walking on parkland on South Street in the Highfields area.

Emergency services attended the scene and a 34-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries which are believed to be life-changing. He remains in hospital at this time.

A scene was in place on South Street but has since been lifted, and neighbourhood officers are carrying out additional patrols within the area.

Detective Inspector Matthew Barnes, of our Armed Crime Team, said: "This serious incident took place in broad daylight in an area frequented by the local community, putting innocent people at risk of being caught up in an offender’s actions.

"We are committed to taking firm, decisive action against anyone who chooses to engage in violence or carry illegal fi****ms and we have a team of highly skilled detectives working to ascertain the circumstances of this incident. Since this was reported to us, we have already carried out a number of enquiries and we now believe this incident could be linked to a previous fi****ms discharge which happened yesterday nearby within the Scawthorpe area.

"I want to make this very clear - gun crime is a very serious crime which puts innocent lives at risk and this type of criminality does not belong on our streets. People should be able to feel safe in our communities, and I want to assure you we are doing everything we can to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.

"During the time of the incident, it is believed a grey Land Rover Discovery was nearby at the time and we would like to speak to anyone who saw the vehicle and its occupants as we believe this could be the missing piece we need to assist us with our investigation. If you have any information, I urge you to report it to us."

If you have any information about this incident, please call 101 or report to us online. Please quote incident number 858 of 18 May 2026 when you get in touch.

APPEAL: Information sought following fi****ms discharge in Doncaster

An investigation has been launched following reports of a fi****ms discharge in Doncaster.

At 12.08am this morning (Monday 18 May) we received reports of shots being fired at a property on Amersall Crescent within the Scawthorpe area.

Armed officers attended the scene and found evidence consistent with a fi****ms discharge at two addresses at the property.

No injuries have been reported, although some damage has been caused to the property.

Two scenes are currently in place on Amersall Crescent while officers carry out further enquiries.

Detective Inspector Matthew Barnes, of our Armed Crime Team, said: "We take reports of gun crime very seriously and we will not tolerate it in South Yorkshire.

"Gun crime puts innocent lives at risk of serious harm, and I understand that news of this incident will have caused concern to residents in the local community. I want to assure you that we have a team of detectives currently working at pace to understand the circumstances that led to this incident, and we also have neighbourhood officers carrying out additional patrols within the area. Please do not be alarmed if you see them - they are there to help.

"While thankfully on this occasion no one was injured, the people responsible acted in an extremely reckless manner and these thoughtless actions present a serious risk of harm to innocent people.

"We are now urging anyone who may have any information that could assist us with our investigation to come forward. Even the smallest piece of information could be the missing link to finding those responsible, so please do report what you know to us.”
