UPDATE: Two men arrested as part of investigation into fi****ms discharge in Doncaster ๐Ÿšจ

On 23 July, we were made aware of a suspected shooting in Paxton Avenue during the early hours of the morning on 22 July.

It is understood a black SUV-style vehicle pulled up in the street at 2.55am before a firearm was discharged from the back of the car towards a home.

Thankfully, no injuries have been reported as a result of the shooting.

An investigation was opened and officers have been following numerous lines of enquiry since.

On Monday morning (10 August), a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing fi****ms with intent and arson, with a 42-year-old man detained on suspicion of arson.

The arson offence relates to a reported incident in the same area on 16 July 2026.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Detective Inspector Matt Barnes, of our Armed Crime Team, said: โ€œWeโ€™re determined to get to the bottom of what happened in Paxton Avenue last month and extensive resources continue to be committed to our investigation.

โ€œIf you know what happened on 22 July but are choosing to keep it to yourself, our message is clear.

โ€œIgnoring gun crime can have devastating consequences. No one was injured during this discharge, but if a gun is fired on our streets again, the story could be very different."

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Doncaster Neighbourhoods Chief Inspector Joe Hunt said: "Vehicle crime has a devastating impact on people's lives. It's not just a financial loss - it takes away a sense of security and we often see stolen vehicles being used in a reckless and dangerous manner, putting families, pedestrians and other road users at risk of harm.

"Stolen vehicles are frequently linked to wider offending and we see time and time again that those involved in this criminality have no regard for the consequences of their actions on both victims and communities.

"We will continue to work reactively to respond to reports of vehicle thefts and also proactively through targeted operations to identify offenders, recover stolen vehicles and disrupt the criminal networks behind them.

RETAIL CRIME: Prolific Doncaster shoplifter banned from every One Stop in South Yorkshire ๐Ÿšซ

An investigation into a serial Doncaster shoplifter has resulted in her being handed a three-year criminal behaviour order (CBO) and banned from every One Stop in the county.

Katie Hudson relentlessly targeted One Stop stores as she admitted 13 counts of thefts and assault by beating after attacking a shop worker mid-theft.

The terms of her CBO mean that she must NOT:

โŒ Enter any One Stop store in South Yorkshire
โŒ Enter the Asda store in Springwell Lane, Balby

This order will remain in place until 9 July 2029. If Hudson breaches the terms of her CBO, she could be sent back to prison ๐Ÿ”

COURT: Fingerprint left at scene of crime snares Doncaster burglar ๐Ÿšจ

Pawel Starobrzynski has been jailed after targeting Askern's Scout Hut in Doncaster Road.

BURGLARY: Man who raided Askern Scout Hut is jailed ๐Ÿšจ

A man who damaged a Doncaster community's scout hut by breaking into it and stealing multiple items of expensive equipment has been jailed.

Pawel Starobrzynski raided Askern's Scout Hut in Doncaster Road in 2024, stealing a number of valuable items, including a laptop, a pizza oven, tents, gas burners and even a flat-pack kitchen which was waiting to be installed.

After Starobrzynski was identified as a potential suspect, a search of his home led to the recovery of many of the stolen items.

Forensic analysis of the scout hut also helped secure a conviction with Starobrzynski's fingerprint found on an electricity box in the hut.

After pleading guilty to burglary and failing to surrender to police bail, Starobrzynski, 41, of Rainton Road, was jailed for one year and 10 months during a sentencing hearing at Sheffield Crown Court on 25 June.

๐Ÿ”ˆ PC Katie Graham, who was the officer in charge of the case, said: "This has been a lengthy investigation and I am pleased it has now resulted in a custodial sentence for Starobrzynski.

"He gave absolutely no thought to the impact of his offending, with the scout hut a vital community asset in Askern that is loved and used by many.

"He stole thousands of pounds worth of valuable items and caused significant damage to the building.

"We know the upset this caused in the local community and that the hut was only able to reopen due to the kindness of residents who gave their time and contributed towards getting it back up and running.

"We were determined to deliver justice for the people of Askern and this result reflects the dedication and hard work of all officers involved, and I hope it reinforces the commitment our neighbourhood policing teams have to protecting the communities they serve."

A Joint Police and Trading Standards operation took place today on Great North Road at Woodlands.

This resulted in the recovery of 900 packets of ci******es and 8.15kg of hand rolling to***co, which if sold at the products standard price would equate to over ยฃ8k, (although we are aware the price is usually reduced for these products) and trading standards are continuing with the criminal investigation into this.

Some people in the comments may say that this is a harmless crime but there are severe health concerns regarding these products as they contain extreme toxic contamination, with the products containing industrial fillers, lethal heavy metals and traces of animal droppings, dead flies and mold.
The money used in the sale of these products also funds violent organised crime that often involves modern slavery.

There are a number of ways to report the selling of illegal to***co;
Trading standards - 0808 223 1133
Crimestoppers - 0800555 111

Please stand up for your community to help make it a safe place to live for everyone.
