๐ŸŽ‰ Great news for Wroot! ๐ŸŽ‰

Wroot Parish Council have worked incredibly hard over the last 2 years, showing real determination and persistence to secure funding for a brand new village play area! ๐Ÿ’š

Works will start as soon as possible, and the full plans and design layouts will be available to view at Wroot Feast this Saturday.

This is such an exciting step for our community, fantastic for kids, families, and for bringing even more life and togetherness to the village.

A huge well done and heartfelt thanks to our Clerk, for her extended efforts in securing the funding and pushing this forward every step of the way. ๐Ÿ‘

Please come along at Wroot Feast this Saturday to have a look and share your thoughts! ๐ŸŒณโœจ

In the meantime here is a very sneaky peak at a fraction of whatโ€™s going to be included!

Just a few of those to thank are;

NORTH LINCS COUNCIL COMMUNITY GRANTS AND THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FUND FOR FUNDING THE PROJECT

We would also like to thank Cllr. David Rose, Ward Councillor for his solid guidance as always.

Also to Lee Pitcher MP for his support and endorsement of the project.

This morning I was called to the park to remove this from the swings. I am assuming it has been made as a foot swing, rather than anything more sinister, however it is extremely dangerous regardless.
Could parents, carers please speak to their young people to ask if they know anything about this and clearly point out the dangers here.
Thank you to the kind lady who phoned me to make me aware of it, and your help cutting it down with me was most appreciated.

Since the lorry park began operating from premises on Wroot Road before the junction onto Bank End Road the PC have been in contact with Finningley Parish Council, Doncaster City Council and Lee Pitcher on numerous occasions to raise residents concerns regarding road safety at the location.

As a result of this, Doncaster City Council contacted the owners in July 2025 and issued them with notice to cease storage use and remove trailers within 28 days. Doncaster City Council have also refused a retrospective planning application for the site.
Despite this, the issues continue.

The Parish Council needs to hear of residents views on this matter and would be grateful if anyone with concerns could email the Clerk with their observations. This will help us when we are in contact with the aforementioned parties to demonstrate the level of concern, and by doing so, you agree to your correspondence being used for such purposes. You may request that your personal details be withheld if preferred. You may also report issues via Doncaster City Councils website (linked below).

The Parish Council has been made aware by the Police that incidents of youths shining torches in windows of houses has been reported in the village. This was in the vicinity of central High Street and was reported to have happened in the early hours of the morning.

The Police have asked me to make residents aware of this and to state that extra patrols will be taking place during the early hours.

I have been asked to encourage residents to report ANY suspicious incidents to the Police on the link below, OR if you are unable to report online yourselves, and it is NOT an emergency requiring immediate action, please report to the Parish Clerk [email protected] and the information will be passed to the police.

Report online any crime you've been a victim of or witnessed: from assault, theft or criminal damage to harassment, online abuse or blackmail.
