Faith in Action — And Why We Need Your Support
Every Thursday, our Community Space opens its doors to anyone who needs a warm meal, a listening ear, and a place to belong. Week after week, we see lives touched in ways that remind us why this work matters.
We’ve heard powerful testimonies from our friends at Green Pastures and the students from Mattersey Hall — stories of transformation, hope, and God at work in people’s lives. They share openly about battles with homelessness, addiction, isolation, and how community, prayer, and practical support have helped them rebuild. Their words remind us that this isn’t just a meal… it’s ministry.
This is faith in action — compassion, consistency, and a space where people encounter love without judgement.
But keeping this going isn’t easy.
The venue alone costs £3,640 per year, and that’s before we buy any food.
Most grants only support new projects, not the ongoing running costs that keep vital community spaces open.
We recently spoke with Sallyjameson MP, who asked us to email her with more details. We did — but it has now been four weeks without a response. We’ll continue trying to engage, but we can’t rely on grant funding or political support to sustain this work.
So we’re turning to our community — the people who know the value of this space because you’ve seen it, experienced it, or helped make it happen.
