💛 Joy in the Journey — Even in the hard places
It's getting to be a regular occurrence, the Doncaster Impact Team brings more than hot food… we bring joy.

When you serve the homeless and vulnerable, you realise quickly that hope isn’t just found in what you give — it’s found in the atmosphere you create. So yes… three of our team broke into full song-and-dance mode while dishing up dinner. And honestly, it was everything. Laughter. Warm meals. A bit of silliness. A whole lot of love.

This is what community looks like.
This is what dignity feels like.
This is why we show up.

💛 Every person deserves moments of joy — even on the toughest days.
And if that means we sing while serving stew… we’re absolutely here for it.

💛 Thank You for Your Generosity in Memory of Mario D’alessio

On behalf of Doncaster Impact Team, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the family and friends of Mario D’alessio for the generous donations made at his funeral.

Your kindness, given in Mario’s memory, will directly support vulnerable adults across Doncaster — providing warm meals, essential items, and a safe place for those facing hardship. It’s a beautiful tribute to Mario’s life, and a reminder of the compassion and community he inspired in those around him.

To everyone who contributed: thank you. Your support will make a real difference.

💛 In memory of Mario, with gratitude from all of us at Doncaster Impact Team.

💛 Community Support Update

Doncaster Impact Team is still busy on the ground, and together with C.T.I.C.D. Homeless Group and Priory Place Methodist Church Homeless Group, we’re doing our very best to support the vulnerable adults who rely on the Welcome Centre.

Today we delivered Pot Noodles and Porridge — simple, warm food that makes a real difference for those with limited access to cooking facilities.

Thank you to everyone who stands with us as we continue to serve our community with compassion and consistency.

The Doncaster Impact Team is growing, serving and moving forward — and our Thursday Community Meal remains right at the heart of everything we do. 💛

Every Thursday, people from across Doncaster come together for three hours of conversation, games, free drinks and a hot, home‑cooked meal. For many, it’s the warmest moment of their week — a place to feel safe, welcomed and valued. This space continues to be one of the most important ways that together with Mattersey Hall Green Pastures we build trust, reduce isolation and offer real support.

Alongside our Thursday community work, we continue to invest in:
🙏 Discipleship — walking with people through faith, hope and life
🏠 Supporting the Welcome Center — offering essentials and practical help
🛠️ Wednesday Workshop — building skills, confidence and connection
🤝 Mentoring — guiding, listening and empowering growth

And today, we’re excited to share some incredible news…
We’ve been awarded a grant to purchase a second‑hand van! 🚐
This van will directly strengthen our Thursday Meal Service, helping us transport food, equipment and supplies more safely and efficiently. It will also allow us to reach rough sleepers during cold weather, providing hot drinks, soups and winter packs when temperatures drop. ❄️☕🍲

This progress is made possible through our ongoing partnership with C.T.I.C.D. Homeless Group, whose lived‑experience insight and outreach work help us connect with those who need support the most.

Together, we’re building a stronger, kinder Doncaster — one Thursday, one conversation, one hot meal at a time.

From Doncaster Council

"I’m really pleased to share some fantastic news. After an incredible amount of hard work, intense activity, and a real collective effort to make things happen, Doncaster’s new central day provision is planned to officially open on 24 March.

This provision will play a vital role in supporting people who are rough sleeping—helping them meet their basic needs and connecting them into trusted support. It’s a significant step forward, and I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in getting us to this point.

I’m also delighted to announce that, following an invitation for people to help name the space, the results are in—and Doncaster’s central day provision will be called Welcome Centre.
The name ‘Welcome’ reflects the ethos of the space—open, respectful, and centred on dignity. It communicates that everyone who comes in is received without judgement and reinforces the supportive, humanitarian purpose of the provision. The term ‘centre’ reflects both the type of support offered and its geographical location.

This really resonated with people and it reflects exactly what we want this space to be:
A warm and welcoming place where people feel valued the moment they walk through the door.
A safe trusted environment, offering rest, comfort, and a sense of refuge for those experiencing rough sleeping.
A symbol of inclusivity and community, reinforcing that this is a space where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

It captures both the practical purpose of the provision and the spirit in which it has been created.
We are planning an opening day to mark the launch, and of course, you will all be invited—details to follow.

Finally, may I ask—if you haven’t already—please could you let us know what support your service will be able to provide from the facility? This will help us ensure a coordinated and effective offer from day one.
Thank you again for your ongoing commitment and support."
