What’s been fluttering after dark at Potteric Carr? 🌙✨

Our team have been busy moth trapping, helping to record the incredible variety of species that call the reserve home. Recording wildlife like this is so important - it helps us build a clearer picture of how populations are doing, so we can better protect them for the future. 🦋

Did you know moths are vital pollinators and a key part of the food chain? The more we learn about them, the better we can care for these often-overlooked species.

Be tick aware! 🕷️🌿Ticks are active on our reserves right now, so it’s a good idea to keep arms and legs covered, stick to paths where you can and check yourself after your visit.

Today’s Bee Workshop at Potteric Carr Nature Reserve was a buzzing success 🐝💛

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a brilliant day of bee-themed fun, learning and wildlife activities. It was wonderful to see so many families getting involved and helping us celebrate our amazing pollinators.

There’s still time to complete our Busy Bee Trail before it ends on Sunday 31st May.
Take part and collect your wildflower seeds to help bee pollinators flourish at home too!
