⚠️ Animal Cruelty at Thorne Memorial Park ⚠️

Thorne Town Council is deeply saddened and concerned by reports of ongoing cruelty towards newly hatched ducklings at Thorne Memorial Park.

We have received reports that groups of youths have been handling the ducklings inappropriately, including throwing them. Tragically, some of the ducklings have died as a result of these actions.

This behaviour is completely unacceptable. The welfare of wildlife in our park is of great importance, and everyone has a responsibility to treat animals with care and respect.

The incidents have been reported to South Yorkshire Police, and investigations are ongoing. We would encourage anyone who has witnessed these incidents or who has any information that may assist the investigation to contact the police.

We ask all visitors to the park to help protect our wildlife and report any concerns to the relevant authorities.

Thank you for your support in helping keep Thorne Memorial Park a safe place for both people and wildlife.
