We'd like to hear from you as to what the existing Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) at Cotmandene in Dorking could look like in the future.

The PSPO will come to the end of its three-year term in January next year, so we want to know what residents and visitors to the site think about how effective it has been and, if it were to be renewed, how long should that period be.

Have your say by completing a short online consultation, which will be available until Monday 7 November 2022 http://ow.ly/KrKS50L2Z29

We want to hear from you about where improvements are needed in your local community.

Is there a need for a bus shelter, skate park or improvements to a youth club where you live, or regularly attend?

We have just under £1million available in our Neighbourhood Fund for projects such as these that benefit residents. This fund is made up of a levy we receive from developers whenever homes or retail space are created in our district.

This is your fund, and we need your ideas. Let’s make this happen.

Complete our short online consultation by 30 September 2022 and tell us the three priority areas where money could be spent in the future that are most important to you https://bit.ly/3S3MzhE

Did you know that a broad leaf tree, such as an Oak, Hazel, Beech or Ash, will absorb an estimated 1 tonne of CO2 during its life-time?! The Woodland Trust are giving away hundreds of thousands of trees to schools and communities and are currently taking applications for trees to be delivered in March 2022.

Could you plant some trees at your school?

What other benefits do trees provide?

Opting for fruit and veg which is in season is a great way to minimise the carbon footprint of your diet. Out of season produce often has a higher footprint because extra energy may be used to grow it (e.g. in a glass house with artificial lighting/heating), store it (e.g. in a chiller to keep it fresh) or to transport it from another part of the world. Check out what’s in season now by using this handy - https://vegsoc.org/cookery-school/blog/seasonal-uk-grown-produce/
