As half term approaches, don't forget that you can use the JustPark app to pay for your parking at Polesden Lacey or to register your National Trust membership number to park for free if you are a member. You can download the app before you set off or use the free wi-fi in the courtyard. 🛻

The JustPark code for Polesden Lacey's car park is 80650. You have 48 hours to validate your parking from your arrival time. You can also use your physical membership card to validate your parking at the parking machine. Parking for non-members costs £5.

If you missed today’s Production Garden talk at Polesden Lacey, you’ll be pleased to hear we’re running two more sessions on Thursday 22 October and Thursday 29 October (11am-12noon). 🥕

Join the team for a 45-minute talk about how they look after this important part of the garden, followed by Q&As on what produce is good to grow right now and top tips for your own seasonal crops at home. 🍀

Just a few days now until half term begins! We’re looking forward to welcoming you to Polesden Lacey for some pumpkin-puzzling fun – starting this Saturday. 🎃

Can you solve the Great Polesden Mystery? Follow the children’s trail around the grounds (Saturday 17 October to Sunday 1 November, 10am-3.30pm) to find out where the prized pumpkin has been hiding. Trail costs £3.50 per person taking part. Normal property admission applies. 🍁

Today (Saturday 10 October) is World Mental Health Day. If you would like somewhere quiet and beautiful to sit and reflect for a while in nature, you are warmly welcome to visit the Upper Sunken Garden here at Polesden Lacey – our officially designated Silent Space. Or take some time out for a gentle stroll in the woods around Preserve Copse, or out on the wider estate.

The deckchairs that have been dotted about on South Lawn all summer have now been brought inside for the start of the winter season. This is to protect them against adverse weather conditions and to enable the team to carry out cleaning and safety checks during the colder months.

We look forward to them re-appearing on South Lawn next spring to brighten the grounds at Polesden Lacey once more.

The Polesden Lacey garden team has been restoring and repairing large areas of the lawns following a busy summer. Using specialist aerating equipment, the team has removed small plugs of soil in the lawns to alleviate soil compaction and increase the flow of water, air and nutrients to the grass roots. 🌱

More impacted areas of grass are also being reseeded using specialist, hardy grass varieties. These have been designed to withstand heavy footfall, require less watering and adapt to warmer weather conditions such as we saw during the summer heatwaves.

There’s just one month left to catch the Moomins trail at Polesden Lacey. Take a magical wander inspired by Moominvalley with a family trail around the grounds, meeting characters from the Moomins stories. Pick up a Moomin trail booklet and receive Moomin stickers when you find all the characters.

The trail runs daily until Sunday 8 November and is free after normal admission has been paid. The event is presented by the award-winning creator of interactive theatrical events, Bakehouse Factory.
