The roses at Polesden Lacey provided the perfect backdrop for a special dress this week. Stylishly worn by Sophie, who visited us despite the rain, the dress was covered with dozens of delicate, handmade roses and complimented by a matching headdress.🌹

We loved seeing the added splash of colour in the garden this week! Celebration of Roses continues at Polesden Lacey until 30 June.🥀

The Production Garden looks wonderful right now at Polesden Lacey with fruit and vegetables thriving, and beds full of flowers that are being grown especially for cutting and displaying in the house. 🌸

Many of the plants in the Production Garden offer visitors more than just a pretty sight or tasty ingredient for a meal. They provide a multi-sensory experience through a combination of scents, textures and colours.

If you’re seeking a moment of calm as a busy half term week comes to an end, come along and breathe in the fragrance of the first of the season’s sweet peas and enjoy the familiar scents of mint, sage, rosemary and lemon balm all around you. 🌿

The roses are taking centre stage at Polesden Lacey in readiness for the annual Celebration of Roses, which returns in glorious technicolour at the weekend (30 May) and runs until 30 June. However, while they're starting to look magnificent as they come into flower, the roses are not the only stars of the show. 🥀

We’ve been enjoying the beautiful pinks and purples of the irises, peonies and alliums in the formal gardens and herbaceous borders. There's still some colour left in them, so do take a wander by the Iris Garden, peony borders and herbaceous borders to enjoy their final fanfare before the roses take over. 🌸

Please take care when visiting Polesden Lacey in the heat. Wear appropriate clothing for the weather, seek out shelter when it gets too hot and don’t forget your sun cream, sun hat and water bottle. 🌞
