Fort Burgoyne The Fort was built in the 1860s, to protect Dover Castle. Managed by White Cliffs Countryside Partnership on behalf of Land Trust

Fort Burgoyne was acquired by the Land Trust early in 2014, with plans to restore this unique site and open it to the public for the first time in its history. Fort Burgoyne will be a welcome addition to the community and visitor attractions in Dover and beyond.

What a fantastic two days exploring the wildlife of Fort Burgoyne and learning the practical skills used to survey, monitor, and protect nature.

From reptiles and rodents to butterflies and plants, participants gained practical experience with a range of survey techniques.

It's that time of year again! Fort Burgoyne is opening it's gates, giving you a rare opportunity to explore the fort and discover more about the site’s history and its diverse range of wildlife!

The parade ground, stables, terreplein and some of the casemates will be available to explore at your leisure. Tours led by our knowledgeable volunteers will be available to book on the day, providing access to the lower levels, shooting gallery, chemin de ronde, and other usually restricted access areas.

Fort Burgoyne booklets will also be available to purchase for £5 each. Cash or card payments acceptable.
