Part two of focuses on David Coyles' talk on Ulster University's Hidden Barriers research! The talk examined how social housing and architecture in Belfast reflected and reinforced the legacies of conflict and sectarian division during and after the Troubles.

Give it up for Down County Museum whose recent 1980s exhibition made it onto BBC Sounds! 🎉

Any history lovers know about this place?

This week's shows the Bessbrook Gospel Hall and how it's changed over the years.

Believed to have been built around the nineteenth century, the plot of ground had been leased from the Bessbrook Spinning Company. The property was renovated and refurbished in 1991.

This week had it all! From family reunions, models and movies!

This the museum had the pleasure of welcoming Nicholas Russell from Suffolk to see his great great grandfather Lord Russell of Killowen’s portrait!
Lord Russell became the first Catholic to hold the post of Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales since the Reformation. Mr. Russell is an Engineer but most of family have followed in their ancestor’s footsteps and become lawyers.

The Museum also hosted some great PEACEPLUS events!
Wednesday saw the Newry Canal & Our Engineering Heritage project launch complete with canal model and Thursday had the continuation of the Flowering Project with a special screening event.
