Today is International Day of Play, celebrating the power of play. It is a time to raise awareness about how central play is to every child's development and well-being.
The theme for this year is "Protect play, protect childhood". This theme is a reminder for all of us that happy and healthy childhoods are built on play.
Inspired by Article 31 of the UN
Convention on the Rights of the Child which enshrines every child's right to play, all of our classes engaged in 31 extra minutes of play today. Here is a snapshot of what we got up to; from Pirate play in Foundation Stage, Minecraft Education in Key Stage 1 and Kahoot quizzes in Key Stage 2.

Our girls’ Gaelic and boys’ Gaelic teams had a fantastic day at the Sonia Kinsella and Pat Watterson Tournament. Both teams performed brilliantly, showing great skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the day.

It was also a wonderful opportunity for the children to meet and make connections with pupils they will be attending school with next year.

A huge thank you to St. Patrick’s, Saul for organising such a well-run and enjoyable tournament and providing refreshments for the players. Congratulations to all of the winners on their success!
