‼️‼️Fridaythorpe Pond Restoration; We’d Like Your Views 🌻🦆🌿

As many residents will know, the Parish Council has been exploring options to improve the condition of the village pond. Following professional advice and quotations, significant works are required to remove accumulated silt and vegetation and help protect the pond for the future.

To fund these works, the Parish Council will need to use our existing budget reserves. We are also looking at possible grant funding and any funding awarded, along with proceeds from the village fete will go towards the restoration of the pond.

We would like to hear from residents:

* Do you support the Parish Council using some reserves, alongside any awarded grant funding and fundraising, for pond restoration and maintenance works this summer?
* Are there any particular concerns or suggestions you would like us to consider?

FRIDAYTHORPE SUMMER FETE – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED 🎉

Planning is well underway for this year’s Fridaythorpe Summer Fete, and we’d love a few more volunteers to help make it another fantastic day for the village.

Whether you can help with setting up, running a stall, serving refreshments, clearing away, or just lending a hand where needed, every bit of help makes a difference.

We’re holding a Fete Working Group Meeting on Wednesday at 7pm at The Manor Inn, and everyone is welcome. If you’d like to get involved, have an idea to share, or simply want to find out more, please come along.

🌟 Volunteers Needed for Community Speedwatch 🌟

We’re setting up a Community Speedwatch group to help keep our village safer, calmer, and more pleasant for everyone and we’re looking for local volunteers to join the team.

If you can spare a little time now and then, enjoy looking out for the community, and want to help reduce speeding through the village, we’d love to have you involved.

Full training is provided, and you’ll be part of a friendly group working together to make a real difference.

A big shout‑out to our Green & Clean team, who collected quite a haul of bagged dog poo from the hedge bottoms yesterday!
Please help us keep the place looking fantastic by dropping dog waste in a bin.

🌿 A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our first Fridaythorpe Spring Clean!

Together we filled 20 bags of rubbish, spruced up the streets, and gave the village a proper freshen‑up for spring.

Your time, effort, and enthusiasm made a real difference — the village is looking all the better for it.
