Today, on International Firefighters’ Day, we take a moment to recognise and honour the incredible dedication, courage, and sacrifice of all those who have served and continue to serve.

Across Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, our crews stand ready every single day. Responding to emergencies, protecting lives, and supporting our communities in moments of need.

Their commitment goes far beyond the call of duty, often placing themselves in challenging and unpredictable situations to keep others safe.

Today we also recognise the families, partners, and loved ones behind every firefighter. Your support, patience, and sacrifices make it possible for them to answer the call, day or night. You are an essential part of this service, and today we thank you too.

To all firefighters, past and present, thank you for your bravery, your selflessness, and your unwavering commitment! 🚒🔥

Dulverton Fire Station is recruiting On-Call Firefighters for 2026!

As we head into the new year, why not take on a role that truly makes a difference?

We’re looking for people who:
• Live or work within 5 minutes of Dulverton Fire Station
• Are 18 or over
• Can provide at least 30 hours of availability each week (predominantly days / weekends)
• Want to serve their local community

🔥 No previous experience needed – full training is provided.

Come and meet the crew at our Drill Night every Tuesday 19:00–21:00, have a look around, ask questions, and see if the role is right for you.
