Our Diary of Events until the end of June. We hope you will be able to join us to help celebrate a library that has been serving the community since 1793. Tomorrow, Sunday 19th April at 3pm, we have the delightful Robin Down coming to inspire us with details of his road trip from Allerdale to Cape Wrath stopping off at golf courses with honesty boxes. We have a number of seats available.

A road trip with a twist: golf clubs, exciting car and the different golf courses on the way to and from Cape Wrath - usually the ones with honesty boxes. We hope you can come along to Robin Down's talk on Sunday 19th April from 3-4.30pm.
Robin will have copies of both of his books on sale on Sunday.

a young man popped into the library today who is raising money for a mental health charity - he's walking north from Lands End to John o' Groats. He has a fundraising page if you'd like to support him or cheer him on along the way.

This Sunday, 29th March, from 3-4.30pm, we are welcoming Mark Shelton to the library. We are looking forward to hearing his cycling tales and no doubt being inspired. We have been looking through our collection to see what we have on this topic. Our oldest book is 'Cycling' by Bury and Hillier published by Longman, Green and Co in1883. Can you spot the differences? We still have some spaces left - so please email if you would like to join us.

Many thanks to Emma Tennant, who came to the library on Sunday 15th March. Emma gave a fascinating talk about her paintings and her rag rug making. Our next talk is on Sunday 29th M arch from 3-4.30pm when Mark Shelton is coming to speak about his passion for cycling. Please email the library if you would like to reserve a seat.
