🌟 Troqueer Primary School are joining us at Dumfries Shine Fest! 🌟

We are delighted to have the talented pupils from Troqueer Primary School taking part in Dumfries Shine Fest on Friday 11th September!

They will be performing from 1:15pm until 1:45pm at The Plainstanes, so why not pop along and show your support? It’s sure to be a fantastic performance!

And the best part? Dumfries Shine Fest is completely FREE!

Dumfries Bloom & Shine 🌸

Check out these wonderful community group planter submissions! 💐🌿

Solway Disability Group have created a fantastic wheel barrow-shaped planter at their sign, along with some lovely colourful flower pots welcoming visitors at their front door. 🌼

And the children at Orchard Nature Nursery have been busy too, creating some beautiful planters for both their front and back entrances. 🌺🌱

Haven’t they done a brilliant job? 👏💚

It’s so lovely to see these wonderful pops of colour brightening up our community and bringing a little extra joy to the streets of Dumfries. 🌈🌸

Shine Fest 2026 – Samba Sisters

We’re delighted to announce that Samba Sisters will be performing at Shine Fest 2026!

Join us on Friday 11th September 2026 at The Plainstanes, Dumfries High Street, where Samba Sisters will take to the stage from 5:00pm until 5:45pm.

Get ready for an afternoon of fantastic live music, energy and entertainment as Samba Sisters bring their sound to Shine Fest.

Dumfries Lions Club has donated £150 to Dumfries Bloom & Shine to enable them to purchase litter picking and other equipment to help them carry out their good work in the Town Centre which is universally appreciated. WELCOME DANIELLE HIGGINSON !!
OUR NEW DUMFRIES BUSINESS ACTION COORDINATOR

Growing up in her family business in Dumfries, Danielle developed a deep understanding of the local business landscape and the challenges faced by small enterprises. She’s a natural connector, experienced in stakeholder engagement, partnership working and supporting organisations to grow. We’re delighted to have her on board!
Dumfries Business Action (DBA) is all about increasing footfall, active participation and making Dumfries all it can be and Danielle brings exactly the skills we were looking for. As the founder of DH Consulting, she supports businesses across the South of Scotland with development, marketing and new ways of working, experience that fits perfectly with DPAG’s mission to strengthen collaboration and support innovation in the town.
DBA is our new project which was flagged up in the Local Place Plan for Dumfries and is an idea already supported by local businesses. The project has only been made possible through funding and support from Dumfries Town Board.
It’s all about building a new network that brings together businesses in and around Dumfries alongside the many community, entertainment and cultural organisations working towards building a better Dumfries and it’s something of a first for the region.
Danielle will also be helping with the roll-out of Love Dumfries (lovedumfries.co.uk) the new Dumfries portal launched earlier this year that is already taking off.
We’re sure you will welcome Danielle as she reaches out across Dumfries in the next few weeks and months and as you see the impact real collaboration can make to the town.
