Form 1 Expedition on Mull, Day 3: An early morning swim followed by a boat trip to Staffa. The children explored the spectacular Fingal’s Cave, with its incredible hexagonal basalt columns formed by ancient volcanic activity. The columns and the shape of the cave create a natural vaulted, cathedral-like appearance, and the sound of the waves echoing inside is magnificent!

On returning to camp, they enjoyed a quick dip and some beach exploring before boarding the bus. They are now on their way home after an amazing three-day adventure.

Farewell Belhaven.

After 6 incredible and formative years for us as a family, today was our final day at Belhaven.

We have loved our time at this wonderful school by the sea: it is the most beautiful place for children to grow up, learn and form lifelong companions, and Rosie and I feel so fortunate that our three have, and will continue to have, the extraordinary joy of a Belhaven education.

Thank you to all of the Belhaven families, staff and governors who have given us their trust and support. It continues to mean the world to us.

We hope that everyone is having a wonderful summer, wherever you are, and are looking forward to the new term in September and welcoming Neil and Eugenie Tomlin as warmly as you did the Langtons back in the summer of 2020.

🌟 Exciting announcement! 🌟

A new musical adventure is set to start in the Rosie Room at Belhaven this September.

On Friday mornings (10-11am) in term time, 0-3 year olds can join our ‘Tunes in the Dunes’ music classes, the first in a series of ‘At Belhaven’ opportunities for families with young children.

Open to babies, toddlers and pre-school children, these classes will follow the Suzuki Early Childhood Education model and will be run by Belhaven’s brilliant Head of Pre-Prep Music, Marian Lloyd.

Happy times down at Belhaven Bay this afternoon as the Pre-Prep braved the water after a very grown-up lunch at Winterfield Golf Club.

They loved seeing OB William G, and enjoyed crossing the Bridge to Nowhere under the careful watch of our professional lifeguard before an invigorating dash into the sea!

Just a week ago, the Pre-Prep Record Attempts run took place. As they ventured out on their trips today and as they head towards the end of term and a very well-deserved summer holiday, it gave us a good opportunity to reflect on just what they had all achieved with their running this year.

It is a quite extraordinary feature of life at Belhaven that there exists this competitive edge, laced with friendship. It permeates through the Prep school and into the Pre-Prep and for these results to be earned by 4-7 year olds is astonishing. Well done to all of the Pre-Prep, everyone (13 of you, I think) who have a new PB and to our FIVE new record holders!
