🎉Major milestone for mental health services as Carseview Centre officially transferred to NHS Tayside

NHS Tayside has taken over ownership and management of Carseview Centre in Dundee, following the formal conclusion of a 25-year Private Finance Initiative (PFI) agreement.

To mark the occasion, staff from Carseview were joined by representatives from the management company Bellrock FM at an event to officially hand over the facility and to welcome 29 Bellrock staff who have transferred to NHS Tayside.

These colleagues deliver a range of essential services at Carseview Centre, including domestic, catering, portering and reception support. They also play a key role in responding to maintenance issues and maintaining the surrounding grounds.

Originally opened in 2001, Carseview Centre was purpose-built to provide inpatient care for people experiencing mental illness and learning disabilities across Tayside. The facility was officially handed over to NHS Tayside on 17 June 2026 with responsibility for the ongoing operation of the site now sitting with NHS Tayside Estates and Facilities teams.

Welcoming the conclusion of the handover process, Executive Director/Chief Officer for Mental Health and Learning Disability Services Dr Lynne Taylor, said: “We are pleased to mark this important milestone in the life of Carseview Centre.

“Over the past 25 years, the facility has played a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of people across Tayside and beyond. We would like to thank all partners who have contributed to maintaining a high-quality environment for patients.

“I’d also like to welcome the 29 staff who have now transferred over to NHS Tayside. They have played a key role in the delivery of services on the Carseview site for a number of years and I’m delighted that their valuable experience is being retained.”

SUPPORT SCOTLAND... PLEASE GIVE BLOOD!🩸🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Major football moments can impact donation levels. Following Scotland’s World Cup qualification match, blood donation attendance fell by over 20%. With fewer than 2% of the population currently active donors, and demand expected to rise over the summer, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service - SNBTS urgently need donors to step forward now.

Please – pitch in and help out! ⚽
