The week provided an opportunity to reflect on the achievements and innovations that have shaped infection prevention over the years, recognise the vital work being undertaken today, and highlight our ongoing commitment to protecting patients, staff and visitors from healthcare-associated infections.

Have your say about Community Pharmacy services in Tayside.

Community Pharmacies provide a wide range of healthcare services, from dispensing prescriptions, providing advice and treatment for minor illnesses to supporting people with their medicines and other health needs.

We are inviting people across Tayside to share their experiences of accessing Community Pharmacy services and their awareness of the services available.

Your feedback will help us to understand local needs, identify areas where improvements may be required, and improve awareness of the services available through Community Pharmacies.

NHS Tayside was proud to support Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) Day on 16 October. To mark the occasion, the Caird Hall and Perth Bridge were illuminated in purple and yellow and looked stunning, and they joined more than 100 landmarks around the world in raising awareness of this often hidden disability. Thank you to Leisure & Culture Dundee and Perth & Kinross Council for their support.

DLD affects around 1 in 14 people and can make it difficult to understand and use language, follow conversations, find the right words, or express thoughts and ideas clearly. The condition can have a significant impact on learning, relationships, wellbeing and everyday life.

The illuminations formed part of a global campaign to shine a spotlight on DLD to encourage greater understanding and support for children, young people and adults living with the condition.

💚 60p September makes a difference in Arbroath 💚

Staff from the Medical Unit at Arbroath Infirmary took on a fantastic wellbeing challenge during September, encouraging colleagues to spend just 60p, where possible, on an item to donate to a local foodbank.

The challenge received brilliant support from staff, resulting in a generous collection of donations for The Old & Abbey foodbank in Arbroath.

Volunteer Arthur Pritchard came along to collect the donations and passed on his thanks to everyone involved.

👏 A huge well done to everyone who took part and helped support the local community! 🎉

The flu vaccine is the safest and easiest way to help protect your child. Given as a simple nasal spray, all it takes is a wee scoosh up the nose.

This year's NHS Tayside Annual Review takes place on Friday 20 November at Mindspace in Perth from 2-3pm and will be hosted by Minister for Mental Wellbeing, Public Health, Sport, Alcohol and Drugs Maree Todd.

Members of the public are invited to come along or watch online and hear an update on the Health Board’s performance and its plans for the future.

nostril. It’s quick and easy. There’s no need to sniff or inhale the vaccine, it’ll just feel like a tickle in their nose.
