He did it!

Well done a big tank you to Gavin Kirk for raising over one thousand pounds for Corbenic by riding his 1974 single speed bicycle from Edinburgh to Corbenic.

The one hundred kilometer ride finished at the new Corbenic Community Barn which was designed by Gavin and his colleague Judy Jarvie of Taller Smaller Architects.

Great effort all round.

Gavin Kirk from Taller Smaller Architects will be cycling from Edinburgh to Corbenic helping fundraise for the Corbenic Core Campaign.

Taller Smaller are the architects who designed our new Community Barn.

As if the cycle wasn't already challenging enough, Gavin will complete it on a single speed bicycle made in 1974.

We are very excited about our new walking group - The Thursday Adventure Club.

The group have been enjoying all sorts walks...even ones that go underground!

Our Community Barn was packed on Saturday for a lovely Family Day event. So good to get together with the extended community of friends and families. Speeches, music, food and dancing. And all under one roof!

A wet Wednesday walk for Corbenic this week, up Birnam Hill. After the steep climb we meandered through woods with blueberry bushes. A measure of the group's hardiness - normally you would meet walkers on this hill - today we had it to ourselves.

Yesterday our Corbenic Hillwalking Group ventured up a Munro called Beinn Ghlas. This 1103m high peak is in the Lawers range by Loch Tay. Twelve of us made it safely to the top and back in fine conditions. The ascent was very steep. There was still some snow patches but the paths were clear.

A fun day celebrating our multicultural Corbenic community.

We had food from many countries, then a statement by Ban-Ki Moon read in many languages:

"Be a global citizen. Act with passion and compassion. Help us make this world safer and more sustainable today and for the generations that will follow us. That is our moral responsibility".

We then enjoyed performances from each country represented. A wonderful celebration of diversity and cultures.

No wonder International Day is one of our most popular events!

We've had music, singing, dancing and poetry in the barn. Meals and meetings too.

And now a double birthday celebration.
