It was a great day at Priory View on Friday with residents, friends, family members and guests, celebrating the 10th year of moving in to the building. Joined by some of the business owners who also moved in around the same time, the residents and guests enjoyed lunch, entertainment with a singer, magician and a celebration cake.

It was a resident led event, and was busy from early morning with many helpers moving furniture, laying tables, adding decorations in anticipation of a happy day, which it was. It was lovely to see so many smiling faces and the restaurant so colourful and full!

Things have changed in the 10 years, and things are changing again now - new initiatives are coming on board to offer residents new services. There has been a lot of work going on around the building recently which will last for a while yet, and this will impact access to residents' balconies. So work is being done by residents and volunteers to add more plants and colour to the main garden for all residents to enjoy.

Residents were thanked for their help in the various groups in Priory View, as were Housing staff for their help towards the event. There are more social events planned and another Coffee Morning later this month.

A number of the original residents were there, and shared memories of the early days and of course the Royal visit in 2017.
I was delighted to have been invited and support a truly great celebration event.

Just an incredible person, and I have followed her story, plus those of others with similar tragic experiences. I am thrilled and relieved that she has been successful in her efforts to change access to data and admire her courage through the pain of her journey....

I am incredibly proud to be Chair of Governors at this wonderful school, actually where I went when I was 5.............the Head Teacher and her staff are amazing and Jason is such a huge asset to the school - I was thrilled for him when I heard that the BBC were visiting to see the Winter Wonderland.......I joined the queue to enjoy it too - well done to Jason! And a big thanks to all those who have helped enhance the wonderland stock cupboard with donations we have received.
Merry Christmas to all those who work in schools, and a big shout out for the governors who are great volunteers in schools too....

Jason Smart's other projects in Dunstable include converting a bus into an outdoor classroom.

I’m delighted to see Penny Mordaunt receive an honour!

By my count 76 people were awarded an honour today. Loved being in their company.

So many people doing their duty in service of the communities and country they love. So many inspiring stories. Humbled to meet many of them today and proud to be in their number.

Farewell Caroline....
It was incredibly sad to hear the news that a friend and colleague of many years, passed away this week. I was privileged to work with Caroline Maudlin, who served Sandy at Central Bedfordshire Council as a councillor until 2023, but was involved in many passions of hers and gave so much to her role as councillor, and member of her community. She was always cheerful and uplifting and was indeed a truly lovely person. I was shocked at the news as it was only earlier this year when we were close again, as she performed as celebrant to another dear friend's funeral. She looked well as she captured the room then also. Caroline was very special, a great Chairman, colleague, community champion and friend that we will sincerely miss. Our condolences and thoughts go to those nearest and dearest to her at this saddest of times.
