Vision Supported Housing

Vision Supported Housing The Project will be staffed 24/7. Both accommodations are situated across the road from each other in Annfield Plain, County Durham.

Vision Supported Housing CIC was established to provide supported housing to otherwise vulnerable adults over the age of 18 in County Durham who are in need of support to sustain a tenancy and achieve independence It is recognised that support is required to prevent homelessness and avoid repeat episodes of homelessness and to help people transition (or return) to independent living. Vision Suppor

ted Housing proposes to provide the ‘stepping stone’ and tools to give people the best possible chance of addressing their barriers to independency within housing. It will deliver bespoke support on an individual basis, which will help people to make positive changes within their lives and empower them to reach their goals; with the ultimate goal being to help people manage their accommodation successfully and assist them with reintegration into independent living and the wider community. It’s creation is borne out of the former SHAID House Project which comprises of 7 self-contained style bedsits and an incorporation of Foster’s Lodge, a previously private non-supported provision of shared housing, comprising of 10 en suite bedrooms and shared communal facilities. It was felt that the total loss of the SHAID House Project could be avoided and that the ethos of the project could be retained, reinvented and enhanced with the addition of Foster’s Lodge to create a 17 bed project offering quality affordable supported housing and support solutions.
