After a long and hard battle to get the lease back for the community house we have handed the building back to home group so as from today may crescent community house is closed we were fighting a loosing battle and decided to walk away from the building but we have been welcomed in to Trimdon station community centre but still trading as trimdon station residents association just give us a couple of weeks to get back up and running those who know the truth of the situation will understand why we have made the decision
It is with huge sadness that we have made this decision, leaving almost 28 years behind, so many great and amazing things for the community over the years leading to receiving many community awards - the biggest one being the queens MBE award for voluntary services. Many people’s childhoods and livelihoods were buried in the memories of that building, with the next generation of this people starting to come through, but unfortunately the fight we had on our hands was one we, as a committee, could no longer fight.
On that note, there’s been laughs, there’s been tears and sadness, there’s been drama and everything in between… so wouldn’t it be nice as a community to reminisce on all the times people have spent there?! Feel free to leave comments to remember the past 28 years
