Our focus learning this term has been around the story 'The very hungry caterpillar.' The children have been very interested in all the fruit in the story, so today the children helped make a fruit salad to take home. They all had a go at chopping, peeling, mixing and of course tasting the fruit!! The children will be taking their fruit salads home to share with their families.

Today some of the children helped dismantle some shelves. Using the screw driver they used their fine motor skills to unscrew all the screws. We then asked a workman if he would help us, Luca enthusiastically assisted the workman using the electric screw driver under close supervision. All the children then helped carry all the parts to the bin. They showed lots of curiosity,good listening skills and great teamwork!

🧊 Ice painting 🧊

The children have had lots of fun, painting with coloured ice. They have experienced cold, wet and slippery textures.

The children have used their fine motor skills by pushing, sliding and making mark on paper.

The older children used words such as cold.

Today the children have had their lunches cooked by Diane. She made sausage and bean casserole with mashed sweet potato and roasted courgette with chocolate pudding and mandarins for dessert. It was a huge success! From helping to chop the vegetables, to tasting them, to smelling the food as it cooked. The babies thoroughly enjoyed eating it! A nice healthy, hearty and homemade meal. Everyone enjoyed the social inclusion of eating a meal together. Huge thanks to Diane for your effort 🙂
