With dry conditions across Gloucestershire, it's important that we all take extra care when enjoying the outdoors.

Here's how you can help prevent wildfires:
✅ Fully extinguish ci******es and never throw them from car windows
✅ Avoid lighting open fires in the countryside
✅ Take glass bottles home with you
✅ Only use barbecues in designated safe areas and never leave them unattended

It's great to see the town's 2026 Shop Local campaign getting off to a great start!

Keep collecting those stamps as you shop on Dursley's high street, there's another prize draw on November 27th for a chance to win £200 cash!

Completed cards can be dropped off at the Council office or Dursley Library.

Since March, you’ve been filling up your loyalty cards and supporting our fantastic high street. At the Summer Festival on July 4th, the moment finally arrived! Deputy Mayor Loraine Patrick drew our lucky winners out of the hat, and we caught up with them to celebrate.

A massive thank you to all the local businesses and individuals who generously donated prizes. Your support keeps Dursley thriving! 🫶

Here is a look at some of our lucky summer winners:

🌟 Double Winner Alert: Lisamarie! 🌟

Lisamarie scooped the top prize: a luxury Fortnum & Mason hamper from Dee & Griffin Solicitors Solicitors, plus £100 cash from Bay Tree Homes and a private donor. Because you can enter as many times as you like, lucky Lisamarie also won a runner-up prize—a £50 voucher for Rasa's Health & Beauty!

Lisamarie told us she “shops on the local high street for her family all the time” and was very pleased to have won first prize and a runner-up prize.

🏋️‍♀️ Susan – Active Lifestyles Membership

Susan won a one-month membership to Active Lifestyles Dursley to keep active this summer.

She told us: “If I want something I try and get it in Dursley first”

🏊‍♂️ Cathy – Family Swim Pass

Cathy took home a Family Swim pass from Active Lifestyles Dursley.

She told us: “Shopping local supports the community, it’s also good for the environment and climate”

🧩 Judith – Escape Room Game Judith won the Escape Room Game from The Engine!

Judith shared why shopping local matters so much to her: “Everyone is finding things tough at the moment and so much is online, it’s important to remember and support our local businesses to keep our lovely town alive”.
