The Parish Council was pleased to be able to host the Earls Colne Annual Parish Meeting on 26th May 2026. We welcomed around 50 attendees, including representatives from a number of local organisations who highlighted the valuable work being undertaken across the village. Presentations were given by Earls Colne Heritage Museum, Earls Colne Twinning Association, Earls Colne Recreation Club, Earls Colne Millennium Green Trust, Earls Colne Allotment Association (ECAA) and Brick Meadows Association, all of whom shared updates on projects, volunteering opportunities and plans for the future.

The meeting also included updates from District Councillor Gabrielle Spray, who spoke about support for residents through the cost-of-living challenges, changes to waste and recycling services, the ongoing Local Plan review, and the continuation of the Councillor Grant Scheme.

The Parish Council provided updates on the significant progress made over the past year following a period of considerable change. This included restoring access to essential council systems and accounts, strengthening financial controls, improving health and safety procedures, developing a rolling programme of improvements for the Village Hall, supporting community services, progressing plans for Mary Gee Green, and continuing work to address issues such as speeding, anti-social behaviour and village infrastructure. The Council also highlighted the dedication of its staff, Councillors and community workers who continue to work hard on behalf of the parish.

The Council welcomes constructive feedback and values residents taking an active interest in local affairs- comments and suggestions from parishioners help inform future meetings and community engagement activities. Whether it be though email, phone or at our future Councillor Clinics ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ- more details to be shared in due course- we are here to listen and support the continued improvement of Earls Colne and it's residents, businesses and organisations alike.

๐Ÿ’š Support Starts Here- Braintree Area Foodbank ๐Ÿ’š

Braintree Area Foodbank offers more than emergency food support. The team is here to help local people who may be struggling with the pressures of everyday life, whether thatโ€™s finances, housing, wellbeing, employment or rising energy costs.

Reaching out for help can feel difficult, but no one should have to face things alone. Speaking to someone early can make a real difference and help people access the support they need before situations become more overwhelming.

Anyone needing support, advice, or simply a listening ear is encouraged to get in touch.
