It's only a couple of days until our brilliant BOOKMARK PARTY! Let your little treasures tap into their creative energy by popping them along to the community library on SATURDAY 30th MAY between 10am and Noon where they can dream-up and make a fabulous illustrated bookmark - either for themselves or as a present for someone special.
The event is being hosted by the legendary Chris Geeson Creative Clubs and is FREE. There's no need to book - just drop in during the morning and allow 20-30 minutes for them to take away something totally awesome.

We held our first creative art session this week. There was lots of cutting-out, sticking and chatting but this time the activity was for adults. Local artist, Jacquie Sheffield, led the morning and provided us with plenty of resources, inspiration and guidance to produce our collage pictures or cards. Everyone really enjoyed the activity and the range of artwork produced was amazing. Many of us hadn’t done any collage since our schooldays and we will now be saving old magazines and cards for cutting up at home to make future creations.

Many thanks to everyone who came, to Jacquie for creating such a warm, friendly and supportive session and to Easingwold Lions for their funding. If you missed out this time, we have another free art session for adults - GET CREATIVE WITH BRUSHO - on Wednesday 3rd June. See our post on this page for details of how to book your place.

** INTERESTED IN PHONICS FOR YOUR CHILD? **

As part of Under Fives Fortnight we're offering another opportunity for you to sample Phonics with Robot Reg FREE at your community library.

Phonics with Robot Reg provides fun, high-energy classes which open a world of literacy to children and teach early phonics skills. They're fun, varied and educational. And the best part is that children don’t even realise that they are learning.

On Friday 24th April we have two sessions:

9.45am - 10.15am. Pre-school 3 years and 4 years.
10.30am - 11.00am. Minis under 3 years.

To book your child a place please call us on 01609 534584 or drop by the library. We'll accept walk-ups on the day if there's space but we do recommend that you book to avoid disappointment.

Phonics with Robot Reg classes have all been designed by a primary school teacher and all are linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS). They offer the perfect start to school for all children from ages 2-4. You can find out more at the Phonics with Robot Reg website www.robotreg.co.uk/
