It’s a busy few days for the team at NARS as we continue to engage with communities across Norfolk and provide vital lifesaving education!

📍 On Saturday, you’ll find us Dereham Morrisons, meeting supporters and raising awareness of the work we do across the county.

📍 Also on Saturday, Doctor Chris C will be attending the Great Snoring Social Club, where he’ll be giving a talk about NARS, alongside a CPR and defibrillator demonstration.

📍 Before that, tomorrow evening, Joe C will be delivering a NARS CPR and Defibrillator Training Session for residents of Breckland, helping more people gain the confidence and skills to act in an emergency.

From fundraising and community talks to practical lifesaving training, we’re proud to be out and about supporting Norfolk communities every day.

If you see us at any of these events, please come and say hello!

Team Spotlight – Meet Ryan S

Originally from Staffordshire, Ryan has always had a passion for helping others and volunteering within his community.

Amazingly, his journey started at just 11 years old when he joined St John Ambulance and his commitment to caring for others has never stopped.

A couple of years ago, Ryan moved to Norfolk, where he now works full-time for the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust as a Pre-Hospital Nurse Practitioner based out of Diss. More recently, he also celebrated getting married and healthcare clearly runs in the family, as his wife is also a Paramedic and based out of the same ambulance station!

After seeing NARS attending incidents alongside ambulance crews during his regular shifts, Ryan decided he wanted to give back to the community he now calls home by joining our Emergency Responder Scheme.

When he’s not responding to emergencies, Ryan enjoys keeping active at the gym and playing hockey for Broadland Hockey Club 🏑

Today, despite it being one of his rest days, Ryan has given up his own time to volunteer with us. Alongside his crewmate Steve M, they have already attended five taskings ranging from road traffic collisions to cardiac arrests with two further teams on including a second Emergency Responder car with Tanner & Phillip plus our Critical Care car with Jordan V-N on board.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Ryan for everything he does for NARS, the ambulance service, and the local community. Your dedication and compassion do not go unnoticed!

As day turned into night, our NARS Critical Care Team headed out to their second job of the shift so far.

It’s been an incredibly busy Bank Holiday for all of our teams, attending multiple patients across the region and working tirelessly to support the ambulance service and deliver care when it’s needed most.

Today, our Emergency Responders and Critical Care teams are out across the county. With so many people heading to the coast, we have too and it’s already been a busy day, with multiple taskings so far, including working together on one incident.

A huge thank you to Dereham Ladies Circle for their donation to NARS

It was a pleasure to welcome the group to our base, where team member Diane gave them a tour and showed exactly what donations like theirs help to support, from the vital equipment we carry to the lifesaving care our teams provide across Norfolk.

Support from local organisations and communities makes such a difference, and we’re so grateful for their continued kindness and enthusiasm for the work we do.

Thank you again from everyone at NARS!
