Jacobean Almshouse founded in 1609 and still in use today. Tours take place mid June to Mid September. Friday and Saturday.

Visits at other times can be booked via the College office weekday mornings 01342 323414 Visitors to Sackville College enter a building that is nearly 400 years old. The College's connection with the Sackville family goes back to the year 1609 and the will of Robert Sackville, Earl of Dorset. This provided a sum of money with which to buy land and "build a convenient house of brick

and stone" to be used as an almshouse. For many years the College had a second use, too: providing overnight accommodation for the Sackville family as they journeyed to and from their estates in Sussex. The heads of the Sackville family have been Patrons of the College through its history. The present Patron is the 11th Earl De La Warr . Thursday to Sunday

Lions May Fair at Sackville College

Sackville College will be open to Visitors on Monday 4th May for the annual Lions May Day Fair

The College will be open from 11am to 3pm to view the Dining Hall, Chapel, Study & Common room.
Admission is £3 / adult and £1 / child

Teas & Cake are only available to purchase in the Common room following entrance fee

There will also be stalls: Plants, Books, Bric-a-brac. Live music on the front lawn all welcome.

Entrance is from the High street.

Unfortunately Sackville College will not be open to visitors on Friday 20th June due to no volunteers being available.
It will be open on Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd between 2pm & 5pm with last admission at 4pm
