Say hello to the newest member of the TP Fire & Security team! 👋

Ayyub has recently joined us as an apprentice via Skills for Security and will be gaining hands-on experience, learning from the team and developing his skills as he starts his career in the fire and security industry.

We’re really pleased to have him on board and look forward to following his progress.

Welcome, Ayyub!

Still relying on keys to control access to your building?

Access control gives you greater control over who can enter your premises and specific areas within them, without having to manage sets of traditional keys.

Permissions can be managed as your team changes, access can be restricted to particular areas and your security can be tailored around the way your business actually operates.

From individual premises to larger multi-site organisations, TP Fire & Security can help you find the right access control solution for your requirements.

Get in touch with our team to find out more. Call us on 0333 2412 477.

Meet Kevin Davis, our Director of Partnerships 👋

Kevin joined TP Fire & Security back in 2014, and over the past 12 years has seen the business change considerably - as has his own role.

From developing relationships with some of the UK’s largest FM providers and national clients to helping those partnerships grow from a handful of sites into nationwide portfolios, Kevin has been part of an exciting chapter in TP Fire & Security’s story.

We sat down with him to talk about his career so far, what he’s learnt along the way and why trust will always be at the heart of a successful customer relationship.

You’ve probably walked or driven past one of these today… but do you know what the ‘H’ means?

The yellow ‘H’ signs found on walls, posts and lampposts mark the location of a fire hydrant, helping firefighters quickly find an underground water supply during an emergency. What you might not know is that public and private hydrants have different responsibilities.

While public hydrants form part of the public water network, private hydrants on private water mains are the responsibility of the relevant responsible person(s). They should be kept accessible, maintained and in good working order, with appropriate inspection and testing arrangements in place.

As members of the Fire Protection Association (FPA), we keep up with industry guidance and information that can help businesses better understand their wider fire safety responsibilities.

So, next time you spot one of those yellow H signs, you’ll know exactly what it’s there for.

While the classrooms are empty, we were busy behind the scenes. 🏫

The summer holidays are an ideal time for schools, colleges and academies to carry out planned fire safety works, helping to minimise disruption to students and staff.

TP Fire & Security has been busy across education sites throughout the summer, carrying out essential fire protection works and helping get buildings and systems ready for the return of students.

As the school gates prepare to reopen, we’re proud to have played a part in helping create safer environments for the year ahead.

Do you know what a dry riser is?

If you've ever noticed an inlet box on the outside of a taller building, you've probably seen one without realising it.

A dry riser is a system that allows the Fire & Rescue Service to pump water quickly to the upper floors of a building during a fire. It helps firefighters reach the areas they need to protect faster, saving valuable time in an emergency.

To make sure it's ready when it's needed, dry risers should be visually inspected every six months and pressure tested every year.

It's one of those systems you hope is never needed, but if the day comes, it needs to work exactly as intended.
