🚧 Keeping East Horsley's roads safe 🚧

Ever driven past a road sign so overgrown you could barely read it? Not in East Horsley! 🌿

Our road signs have just had their annual clean, thanks to local window cleaner Damien Clark. Meanwhile, Village Warden Nick Clemens has been out with his long-handled hedge trimmer, cutting back vegetation that had started to obscure some signs from view.

Small jobs, big impact — clear, visible signs help keep everyone on our roads safe. 👍

SCORCHING SUMMER STATS ☀️
It’s been a seriously dry summer.
Last Saturday marked the 40th day in the South when temperatures topped 30°C, while at Wisley it was the 60th consecutive day without rain.
You can see the impact right here on Wellington Meadow, which is looking very brown and dry.
With conditions this hot and dry, the risk of wildfire is high. If you’re enjoying our open spaces:
🌿 Choose a picnic rather than a disposable BBQ
🚯 Take your litter home
🔥 Avoid open fires and bonfires
🍾 Keep glass bottles out of direct sunlight
One spark can start a wildfire, threatening wildlife, habitats and people.
Let’s enjoy the sunshine by helping to keep our open spaces safe.

De Vere Horsley Estate has provided an update following concerns raised by residents regarding the fireworks display on 31 July. The Estate has advised that fireworks displays at the venue have been suspended until further notice. Step back in time this September with a series of five free guided heritage walks around the Horsleys.
Led by knowledgeable local guides, you'll explore historic buildings, medieval houses, Horsley Towers, West Horsley Place, the iconic Lovelace Bridges and much more.
