Suburban Kestrel!

Not too bothered by people

I am thinking of naming him Leonard after the local neighbourhood!

Maybe the informal Lenny the kestrel would be better. What do you think?

Big shout out to those who braved the weather yesterday to litter pick Lammermoor Park. If you live near Lammermoor which is adjacent to Calderglen Country Park you may want to help in future efforts. Their contact details are in the comments below

Spring is here

1st butterfly of the year at Glen Esk Pocket Park. A lovely small tortoiseshell. I did see a couple of peacocks as well.

The aim is to produce a walking action plan and work with the community to support improvements over the next four years. So the more diverse people from around the town who fill out the survey, the better the action!

Feeding the Next Generation.

The park is full of seed heads.

A flock of gold finches, including their young, is scoffing them.

When you walk down towards the lower path, watch the flock fly up into the trees.

I am convinced the flock gets bigger every year
