🚨 Milestone reached! 🚨

As we head into September 2026, we’ve officially logged 200 call outs so far this year! That’s a massive 30 taskings higher than this time last year, reflecting the increased need for our services and just how busy our dedicated team has been keeping the community safe.

August was an exceptionally packed month for us, featuring -

- ✈️ 4 days providing essential safety cover for Eastbourne Airshow.

- 🌊 Water rescue training, sharpening our skills to ensure we are ready.

- 🛒 Partnering with Morrisons for a charity event.

A massive Thankyou to our incredible team for their endless dedication, to their families, partner organisations and to our community. We couldn’t do it without you!

Rough seas, heavy rain, zero complaints! 🌧️🌊

Our team had a wet but valuable training session at Birling Gap this morning, testing and refining our water rescue skills in 7ft waves and tough conditions. Training in bad weather isn’t just a challenge, it’s essential we are ready for whatever the weather throws at us! 💪

Airbourne update ☀️✈️

We are halfway through our safety patrols for Airbourne: Eastbourne International Airshow alongside partner emergency services!

If you’re out enjoying the displays please remember:

💧Stay hydrated & apply sun cream
🔥 No BBQs around Beachy head.
🚁 No Drones anywhere near the air show.

📍Along with our patrols, one of our team will be located at the Lifeguard hut on the seafront, ready to respond quickly if needed.

July 2026 update and activity summary! 🚨

Another busy month for the team with 37 taskings in July (including 4 in Brighton), bringing us to 172 taskings so far this year.

What we’ve been up to:
- Missing children and missing people searches
- Casualty assistance and evacuations
- Primary school safety visit
- Water & rope rescue training
- Local knowledge patrols and kit checks

We also welcome our 2 new recruits, Helen & Vicki! 👏 who passed initial training and joined our team and finally we thank the anonymous delivery of chocolate to our station, whoever it was these are much appreciated! 💙

Ready for when it counts! 🧗🏻‍♂️

Great team training session last night focusing on search and rope rescue techniques. We covered everything from immediate rescue and accompanied descents to full casualty evacuations.

Lovely evening for it and we provided some entertainment for everyone out on their evening walks! 🌅👀

🚨 We are currently on call out 153 of 2026.

📟 We have had 9 taskings this week making a total of 27 hours activity.

⏰ Our longest stint was 7 hours and we had 4 taskings in one day.

Thankyou to our dedicated team leaving friends, family and work to attend these incidents during this prolonged heatwave!

June 2026 complete… our page may have been quiet but the team hasn’t been. 31 call outs in June from Eastbourne to Brighton, leaving us currently on 137 call outs so far this year.

We are still on track to have our busiest recorded year, currently 30 taskings more than this time last year.

🚨 MAY ROUNDUP & BUSY START TO JUNE 🚨
The team has been incredibly busy keeping our coast safe! Here is a look at the numbers:
33 taskings in May (totalling 68 hours)
6 taskings already in June
112 call-outs so far this year—that’s up by 18 taskings compared to this time last year!

Our jobs have ranged from Sovereign Harbour to Brighton. We've been tasked with missing person searches, casualty evacuations, assisting at an RTC and even providing casualty care for a weever fish sting (ouch! 🐟), among many others.

During our busiest periods, we had up to 6 taskings within a single 24-hour window on three separate days.

Beyond the call-outs: The team also dedicated numerous hours preparing for and taking part in the brilliant 999 Display Weekend in Eastbourne and took part in the Eastbourne Carnival. ☀️🕺
