Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service Past Members Association An Association formed for the mutual benefit of all former members of Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire

The association is run by its members for the benefit of all past members. The association and it's website are there to provide you with a readily available source of information that is targeted to meet your specific needs as a former employee of the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service. We have linked with organisations to provide you with help on a wide range of matters such as health, wealth and lifestyle issues as well as providing forums through which you can contact and meet up with friends and colleagues, reminisce and discuss issues that appertain to you. The Past Members Association will undertake to organise social functions, sporting events and trips for its members. We shall also seek to enter into agreements with commercial companies for the purpose of gaining discounts and offers specific to our members needs. Membership of the HFRS Past Members Association costs just £10 per annum and is open to anyone who has retired from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, or has retired from any other brigade and is living in Hampshire or anyone who is former employee of Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service (or its forerunners) and worked for them for 5 years or

HFRS Past Members Association membership currently stands at 333.

LOSS OF FORMER COLLEAGUES

Jim Cummine
On 5 October
Aged 92
Jim joined the Southampton Fire Brigade in June 1964 and moved across to Hampshire in April 1974 rising to the rank of Sub Officer, serving at ‘Central’ (St Marys), Docks and finally at D Div Headquarters, (Redbridge). After retirement he then took on the role of Technical Training Assistant at the Training Centre from March 1989 until final retirement in September 1998.

Philip Sillence
On 4 October
Aged 77
Phil served as a Fireman at Romsey Fire Station from October 1978 until August 2004

Ian Tickle
On 8 September
Aged 74
Ian joined Manchester in July 1974 and transferred to Hampshire in June 1991and served in
A Div Fire Safety at Andover, and becoming an Assistant Divisional Officer before moving to Lancashire.

Martin Head
On14 September
Aged 70
Martin joined the Hampshire Fire Brigade, at Botley in December 1975, and retired as the Watch Manager in charge in December 2017. He also served at Marchwood Army/Defence Fire Service from March 1977 to March 2017, becoming a Watch Manager there also.
