Celebrating Five Years of 3SFire CIC

This year marks five years since 3SFire became a Community Interest Company.

Back in 2021, the aim was simple: to use the success of our commercial work to support projects that improve safety, wellbeing and community resilience across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Since then, we've invested over £108,000 into community initiatives, supporting everything from Fire Cadets and early intervention programmes to rural safety projects, firefighter wellbeing initiatives and community safety campaigns.

We've been fortunate to support organisations and events including Blue Lamp Trust, South Coast Firefighter Challenge, Firefighters Memorial Stair Climb, UKRO Festival of Rescue, Fire Investigation Dogs, and New Forest Wellbeing, alongside a range of local projects that often don't attract the headlines but make a real difference to the people involved.

This support is only possible because organisations continue to choose 3SFire for training, consultancy and fire safety services. Every customer helps contribute to the wider community benefit that sits behind what we do.

We're still a small team, but over the last five years we've shown that a business can be commercially successful while staying true to its purpose.

Great to see this campaign back for 2026. Emollient creams provide essential health benefits, but many people don't realise they can also increase fire risk when absorbed into clothing and bedding. We're pleased that 3SFire CIC funding has helped get this important safety message out to more people across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Please share with anyone who may benefit.

Working in or near water? As the seasons change, now is a good time to think about safety.

Summer already feels a distant memory. The mornings are getting cooler, the ground is getting wetter and I've started reaching for my wellies again when walking the dog.

It serves as a reminder that many people spend much of their working day in, on or near water. Whether that's rangers, countryside teams, environmental organisations, volunteers, grounds maintenance staff, parks teams or anyone else working around rivers, lakes, reservoirs and coastal areas, the risks can often be underestimated.

Understanding those risks, recognising the warning signs and knowing what to do in an emergency can make a real difference.

3SFire's Working Safely Near Water course provides practical awareness training to help individuals and organisations better understand and manage these hazards.

Our trainers bring real-world experience from the fire and rescue sector, combining practical knowledge with engaging training delivery.

Supporting safer communities.

Through the services we provide, 3SFire CIC is able to reinvest surplus into initiatives that help keep people safe across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

We're delighted to see this support being used to provide water safety engagement resources, equipment for community events and flooding prevention materials that will continue to support important prevention work in our communities.

Experience matters when it comes to Fire Risk Assessment.

Firefighter Trainee Course - February 2027 Intake

3SFire CIC has secured places on the next Firefighter Trainee Course, delivered by trainers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service.

In July, four of our trainees graduated alongside HIWFRS wholetime firefighter recruits after successfully completing the 13-week course. We also have three trainees currently progressing through the latest intake.

The course covers all core firefighter skills including:
• Breathing Apparatus
• Pumps and Ladders
• Working at Height
• Hazardous Materials
• Incident Ground Operations
• Emergency Response Procedures

This course is ideal for Fire & Rescue Services looking to recruit and train new firefighters through an established programme delivered by experienced fire service instructors.

⏱️ 13 Weeks
📍 Eastleigh, Hampshire
🏨 Non-residential course, with hotel accommodation available within walking distance. 3SFire can provide advice on suitable accommodation options if required.
