Itchen Valley Country Park

Itchen Valley Country Park Nestled on the outskirts of Southampton, Hampshire. www.itchenvalley.co.uk Picnics are encouraged and there are many tables throughout the Park.

Discover your favourite Country Park with regular family events, facilities to hire, trails and open spaces, 6 play areas, and a café. In addition to the meadows and woodland there are two children's play areas, BBQ's and toilets. There is also a Cafe for you to enjoy a selection of hot food, teas, coffees & cakes after following one of our many waymarked trails around the Park. There are two larg

e permanent barbecue sites are available for hire for parties. There is a charge for parking, and you can buy seasonal permits through RingGo. Thank you to everyone who attended our Wild About Nature event!

Families visiting the Marketplace took part in a range of activities provided by the park and local wildlife charities. It was the last day of the Great Big Green Week which is a national campaign by the Climate Coalition. Their theme this year was coming together for good. The event at the park certainly had a feel good factor

Eight families made a bird box with the help of the event volunteers. Children took part in meadow minibeast hunts using sweep nets and delighted in finding grasshoppers, ladybirds, spiders and crickets.

Hampshire Amphibian and Reptile Group brought Newts, Grass snake and a Slow Worm which drew interest from visitors. Displays and activities were brought by Solent Bird Aware, RSPB, Hampshire Bat Group , HART Wildlife Rescue and the Woodland Trust.
