Less than two weeks until, Monton Unitarian Church host a special service to celebrate 100 years of Salford.
They're delighted to announce that local choir, Vocal Sounds will be rounding off the service with an uplifting performance of celebratory songs and Monton Art Group will be exhibiting their fantastic artwork in the Church Hall.

Our friends over at Monton Unitarian Church are hosting a special service on Sunday 16th August at 3pm to mark 100 years of Salford. Expect uplifting songs of celebration and a chance to give thanks to the wonderful place that we live.
Following the service, there will be tea and cakes at the Church Hall from 4pm. Come just for the service, or just for the cake. Even better, come along for both.

Hello Monton! hope you're all enjoying the sunshine

A little noticeboard update…

You may have spotted that our noticeboard has had a bit of a glow-up! The old one was starting to leak and had definitely seen better days, so it was time for some much-needed TLC.

To help cover the ongoing upkeep, we’ll be introducing a small £5 per month fee for businesses wanting posters displayed on the board.

Local community groups, events and charities will always remain free of charge. ❤️

Andy at Access Lock & Safe will continue to manage the noticeboard, so if you would like to put up a poster, please pop by and see him.

Every penny raised will go straight back into our local funds, helping us fund for the 2026 Xmas lights and, of course, make our Monton Jingle Mingle 2026 bigger and better.

You are warmly invited - actually positively encouraged - to join our friends at Monton Unitarian Church as they look back at last year, and forward to this coming year.

All Church Members can vote on official Church matters, and if you wish to be involved, you can sign up on the day.

There will, in true Monton Unitarian Church style, be cake!! There will also be the opportunity to become a Trustee and/or a volunteer and support your local church and community.

Monton, we need you AGAIN!

Thanks to your efforts, we successfully appealed the plans for the digital advertising screen. HOWEVER, BT is now appealing that decision so we need your help again. We are dismayed and disappointed to learn that BT is pursuing this when we have clearly and repeatedly expressed our opposition, believing this screen would create unnecessary street clutter and access issues yet they continue to push it.

You need to submit your objection comments online via the Planning Inspectorate Comments link below. They are appealing both previous applications so if you do disagree we need to appeal BOTH.

Here's what you need to do:

1. Click this link: https://acp.planninginspectorate.gov.uk

2. When you land on the page go to search for case on the right. (See pics)

3. Enter the case number and then submit your personal details and enter comments. There are two case numbers so you need to repeat this process for both. The case numbers are: 3375781 AND 3375783
