From this winter, around 345,000 low-income households in Scotland will get the £150 Warm Home Discount without needing to apply.

This follows our recommendation to improve automatic targeting in Scotland.

But to take advantage your name needs to be on your electricity bill before Sunday 23 August. If you've moved house recently, or you use a prepayment meter, it's worth checking now by calling your energy supplier.

You can check whether you will be eligible automatically for the Warm Home Discount in Scotland here: https://www.gov.uk/the-warm-home-discount-scheme/if-you-live-in-scotland

Even if you are not eligible automatically, you still might be able to get the discount by applying directly to your energy supplier.

For help and advice speak to Advice Direct Scotland at energyadvice.scot or call their free helpline on 0808 196 8660.

Ever struggled with a poor mobile phone signal?

Whether accessing public services, making payments, keeping in touch with family or travelling for work, reliable mobile coverage underpins our everyday lives.

That’s why we welcome regulator Ofcom's proposed new mobile performance benchmark. It aims to help consumers use apps and services nine times out 10.

We want this improved performance to benefit everyone. But Scotland has poorer mobile coverage than other UK nations and the highest incidence of 4G total not-spots. Rural areas are particularly affected.

We want an additional benchmark to apply at national level for Scotland, alongside the UK measure. This is to ensure consumers here are not left behind.

Half a million people in Scotland rely on cash. But bank branch closures mean that for some, it is harder than ever to access.

This can mean longer journeys to get cash, often in places with poor public transport links.

It can also mean losing help and advice from someone you trust, at a bank you know well.

Small businesses feel this too. Extra time, travel and cost can make banking harder for local shops and traders.

We think banking should work for everyone, not just people who are comfortable online.

Water debt affects more people in Scotland than many realise.

We spoke with people who have experienced water debt, as well as the frontline advisers who support them.

What they told us was clear: this isn't only happening to people in long-term financial difficulty. Rising living costs are pushing households that have never struggled before into debt for the first time.

And when people struggle to pay their bills, water charges often get missed.

The process of debt recovery can make things harder. Extra charges, intimidating correspondence, and enforcement action leave people feeling ashamed and overwhelmed. This can make it harder for them to resolve the situation.

We will use these findings to propose recommendations for change.

Scotland’s island communities deserve better postal services.

People there are paying more for deliveries and waiting longer.

Some areas are currently exempt from the First Class delivery targets that apply everywhere else. We want to see that change.

Our Head of Post spoke to BBC Reporting Scotland.

Amy's story shows what's at stake when postal services let island communities down.

Following our research into postal services in Scotland's island communities, BBC Scotland interviewed Amy, a self-employed electrician in Shetland.

Watch as she describes how unreliable deliveries can affect her daily life. Her experience reflects what we heard from other residents and small businesses.

We need more reliable postal services for Scotland's 94 inhabited islands.
