Police in Edinburgh are appealing for assistance in tracing Dale Rae, 36, who has been reported missing.

Dale was last seen about 2130hrs on 14/10/2026 in the Drylaw area of Edinburgh. His current whereabouts are unknown, and we are becoming increasingly concerned for him.

When Dale was last seen he was described as wearing a black jacket, orange top, blue jeans and black shoes.

Dale is known to frequent the city centre area of Ednburgh.

Officers are appealing for information to help trace a man missing from Falkirk.

James Booth, 42, was last seen in the Falkirk area on Sunday, 4 October, 2026.

He is described as being around 5ft 3in tall, with short brown hair and blue eyes.

His current clothing is not known.

James may have travelled to the Edinburgh area.

As time passes concerns are growing for his welfare and enquiries are ongoing to trace him.

Officers are appealing for anyone who has seen James or who has information on his whereabouts to contact them.

Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 1734 of 15 October 2026.

A 29-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault in Edinburgh.

The incident happened within The Pitt, West Shore Road, Edinburgh, around 1am on Thursday, 25 June, 2026.

The woman will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.

⚽️ Building positive relationships in our community! 👮‍♂️

Leith Community Officers recently attended Friday Night Lights, where they had a successful and positive engagement with the young people taking part in the football initiative.

Friday Night Lights provides a safe, positive environment for young people to come together through sport, helping to encourage positive choices and reduce the risk of anti-social behaviour.

Building and maintaining positive relationships between Police Scotland and young people is vital to strengthening trust, breaking down barriers, and ensuring our officers are approachable and visible within the community. Engagements like these provide valuable opportunities to get to know young people, listen to their perspectives and build mutual respect outside of traditional policing situations.

By continuing to work together with local partners and community initiatives, we can help create stronger relationships, safer neighbourhoods, and more positive opportunities for our young people. 🤝

A police officer who is cycling over 700 miles for charity is over halfway through his journey.

PC Ross Bell is raising awareness of the charity Blue Light Minds, who provide free, confidential, evidence-based trauma-focused therapy to Scotland's emergency service workers.

He arrived this afternoon at Police Scotland Headquarters, Tulliallan and was welcomed and congratulated by Assistant Chief Constable Wendy Middleton and Superintendent June Peebles.

As a registered Scottish charity, Blue Light Minds deliver education and awareness training to serving, former and future emergency service workers helping to improve understanding of psychological trauma, reduce stigma and encourage early access to support.

PC Bell was joined today by George Nedley from the Scottish Police Credit Union, as he reaches day 13 of his cycle.

New recruits who joined Police Scotland in September were provided with background on the event and the importance of seeking help and support when required.

The journey continues to Edinburgh tomorrow, before heading back to Dumfries and Galloway towards the end of the week. 🚴‍♂️
