Davidson's Mains

SGN installed temporary traffic lights late yesterday at the Main Street / Quality Street roundabout for works on a gas escape.

In order to improve site safety, to accommodate further investigative works and to reduce queues at the temporary lights, both Cramond Road South and East Barnton Gardens will be closed at the roundabout from ~3pm today, Tues 1 Sept. The temporary lights at this location will then be removed.

Following successful tests last night, Edinburgh Trams have been reinstated between Edinburgh Airport and Newhaven.

📢 As reported yesterday, Princes Street is due to reopen tomorrow (Saturday 29 August).

Buses will resume operation along this section of Princes Street from start of service tomorrow. Please note there will be some changes to bus stopping patterns with bus stops eastbound between Castle Street and Frederick Street closed.

Subject to final testing tonight (Friday 28 August), Edinburgh Trams services are also anticipated to resume full route from start of service tomorrow, running between Edinburgh Airport and Newhaven.

Customers are encouraged to continue checking the latest service updates on our websites, the Bus & Tram app and social media channels, and are advised to allow extra time for travel while services are being reinstated across our network.
