Volunteer with us!

The Pod Café is a vibrant community café located within WHALE Arts, our community arts centre in Wester Hailes. We're looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to join us.

As a café volunteer, you’ll be at the heart of our community space, helping to prepare food and hot drinks, and providing a friendly experience for our customers. You’ll gain hands-on experience in customer service, food preparation, and barista skills, all while being part of a friendly and dedicated team.

The Parental Employability Support Edinburgh team hosted their Start of Summer Family Day on the 10th of July 💜With over 100 people joining us on the day, it was a great success!

Parents received access to employability support and advice alongside a day full of fun, games and crafts with their kids – from face painting, and a cooking workshop, to a meet and greet with live animals!🐍🎨

One parent thought the following: "It is so great having opportunities like this in the local area for the kids but also for us parents to access support and find out what is out there! We have had a great day, getting our face painted and meeting some of the animals"

In just an hour's time, we have our extra session of Junior Board Games, great for families to try some favourite or new games.

We are also very excited to be joined by community zookeepers for Zoo Tails tomorrow at 3:30pm! This is great for wee ones and children of primary age.

Likewise, some fun songs and games with Emily and our parachute on Thursday afternoon at 2pm.

If you've been missing Crafternoon while we have hosted our special summer events, it is back this week at our new time, 2:30pm.
