At Home Instead, we want to know the person first.

What did they do for a living? What music do they love? Where did they grow up? What makes them laugh? What are they proud of? How do they like to spend their day?

Last week, our Community Networker, Amy, joined the Love to Move session at The Heart of Newhaven Community, and what a brilliant morning it was!

Led by the wonderful Mitra, Amy got stuck straight in, dancing, having a laugh and enjoying the company of everyone who came along.

We’re so lucky to have activities like this available locally, especially when you see first-hand the fun, connection and enjoyment they bring.

Fancy joining in? Love to Move takes place every Monday at 10am and costs just £1 per session!

Are you looking for a weekend role? Why not make it count!

We’re looking for a Weekend Care Professional to spend time with and support people in their own homes.

You might be making breakfast, heading out for a walk, helping with the shopping or simply sitting down for a good conversation. Every client is different, and that’s part of what makes the role so rewarding.

You don’t need to have worked in care before. We’ll give you fully paid training, time to shadow experienced Care Professionals and plenty of support as you settle in.

And we don’t do rushed visits. Our calls are always at least an hour, giving you the time to get to know the person you’re supporting and do things properly.

We’re looking for someone kind, dependable and consistently available at weekends. Someone who enjoys people and likes the idea of doing work that leaves another person’s day a little better.

At Home Instead Edinburgh East, we’re looking for caring, dependable people to become Care Professionals, supporting older people in their own homes with companionship, everyday tasks and the things that help them stay independent.
