Feeling fatigued after summer holidays? Weary in this back-to-school season?

Hear from Fiona, one of our Therapeutic Parenting Coaches, as she explains the concept of window of tolerance. We all have an amount of what we can cope with before we are overwhelmed. This approach supports us in managing parenting calmly, to avoid overwhelm in parenting.

Peer Support Groups offer a space where parents and carers can connect, share experiences, and find encouragement. Meeting in churches and community spaces across the UK, they provide invaluable peer relationships which in turn reduce isolation and strengthen families.

In our 2026 peer support survey for foster carers and adoptive parents: 84% said peer support helped them feel understood, 52% received emotional support, and 49% learned from others with shared experiences.

The difference these groups make is significant for children and families.

We had a blast at our Jude’s Childhood Heroes Celebration! 🍦✨

Together with Jude's Ice Cream and in partnership with The Royal Foundation's early childhood work, we celebrated the incredible people whose care, compassion and commitment has made a lasting difference to children and families.

Congratulations to our award winners:

πŸ† Voice of Hope Award: Earl and Rebecca Robinson, for inspiring and equipping others through their adoption advocacy.

πŸ† Courageous Leadership Award: Billy-Jo O'Leary, for championing a stronger voice for care-experienced children within the Church.

πŸ† Resilient Love Award: Mark and Sarah Denton, for their unwavering commitment to fostering despite significant personal challenges.

πŸ† Kingdom Partnership Award: Anita and Steve Prince, for their leadership, encouragement and support that helped shape Home for Good’s journey from the early days.

πŸ† Faithful Companion Award: Hannah Joyce, for continuing to walk alongside and support families long after leaving her role at Home for Good and Safe Families.

πŸ† Champion of Generosity Award: Kayleigh Harrison, for giving back through incredible fundraising efforts that have helped more children and families receive support and hope.

πŸ† Lifetime Achievement Award: David and Wendy Taylor, for over two decades of caring for children in their home until Wendy's health meant it was no longer possible. They remain strong advocates and voices of support and wisdom for those fostering.

Therapeutic Parenting (TP) is helpful for all children, especially children who are autistic, have ADHD, have experienced trauma or have high anxiety for any reason.

Join us online tomorrow at 12:30pm to hear about the impact of our TP sessions and meet with our coaches. You'll learn more about the impact TP is having on the families we work with and hear how your support can make an impact.

One parent reflects on the support they received through TP coaching: "The sessions have impacted our family massively. Looking at what is going on underneath for the boys has changed our lives.” ❀️

Laura grew up in long-term foster care after losing her birth parents as a child. That shaped how she understood home, belonging, and what it means for someone to step in and led her and her husband Jonny to know adoption would one day be part of their story πŸ’

Now they're sharing their foster-to-adopt journey and the difference that faith, family and church community have made along the way ❀️

How are your children feeling about going back to school? πŸ’

One of the ways that felt safety is achieved for children is through routine, familiar rhythms and trusted adults who help with emotional grounding. School is not always a place where children β€˜feel’ safe, especially after a long summer holiday with a new year group to enter where there are different expectations, environments and sensory information, different teachers and ways of doing things.

Here are some things which could help in this β€˜back to school’ season ➑️
