Meet more of the team taking on The Four Peaks Challenge ๐Ÿ”๏ธ

They're facing the challenge together so that no child or family has to face their challenges alone.

Because every child should have a nurturing home that enables them to flourish and every family should have support around them when theyโ€™re facing times of crisis ๐Ÿ’š

In the UK, 1 in 20 adults report feeling lonely often or always. For single parents or carers, this isolation can feel even more acute. Many find themselves without support or community around them.

We connect isolated families with loving volunteers who offer friendship, a listening ear and connection to wider community. Ordinary people like Elsa whose friendship helps families to build self-confidence, stabilise the home environment, and begin to flourish.

Every pound you give between 2โ€“16 June will be matched by our generous donors at the Childhood Trust! Your gift, doubled, will help more families find community, friendship and hope.

For two weeks only, have double the impact โค๏ธ

Our June prayer resource is here! Will you pray with us? ๐Ÿ™

1. Pray for Father's Day ๐Ÿ’™

As Fatherโ€™s Day approaches, pray for strength and wisdom for all fathers, comfort for those grieving the loss of a father, and healing for broken father-child relationships. Pray for single fathers and those struggling with fatherhood, that they may find guidance, peace, and support in their journey of parenting.

2. Pray for the June Big Give ๐ŸŒฑ

From 2-16 June our June Big Give campaign is open, giving individuals the opportunity for their donation to be matched by The Childhood Trust. Please pray for this campaign, that those who encounter it will be able to see the difference they can make in the lives of children and families and that, through the generosity of those who give, we will be able to grow our impact.

3. Pray for teenage boys ๐Ÿค

Letโ€™s lift up the often-forgotten demographic of teenage boys. Pray for those teenage boys who are struggling with identity and mental health pressures. Pray that, as a charity, we would be able to connect more teenagers and their families with volunteers who can be a positive support and influence in their life.

4. Pray for our volunteers ๐ŸŒŸ

The first week of June is volunteer week, a time to celebrate those who give their time and talents to serve and support others. This week, please pray for our Family Support Volunteers as they bring friendship and love to isolated families in their community. Ask God to strengthen and equip them as they show Jesus' love to the families they are walking alongside.

Thank you for partnering with us in prayer!

Did you know that children in sibling groups often wait far longer for adoption?

Yet research shows that keeping siblings together can lead to greater stability as well as better long-term mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Nick and Naomi saw this first-hand when they adopted their daughters Olivia, Emma and Rosie*, aged four, three and one.

Could you consider adopting siblings?

41% of carers struggle to balance fostering and work. It is no surprise then that such a large percentage of carers tend to rely most on friends and family as their biggest source of support.

Who do you lean on for support? ๐Ÿ’ญ

Thinking about fostering? Throughout the process, you'll be asked about your support network. Social workers know that fostering isn't easy so it is great to think about who you have in your network that can support you ๐Ÿ’š

What is a host? ๐Ÿ’ญ

By opening their homes to look after a child overnight, our hosts give parents respite or provide childcare during emergency medical appointments.

From a night or two, to a couple of weeks, it can be one-off or a regular pattern like one night every month.

Hosting is not the same as fostering. The role of a host is like that of a friend or grandparent having the child to stay for a short time.
