Founded in 1862, the Edinburgh University Conservative and Unionist Association (EUCUA) is the second oldest university Conservative and Unionist association in the UK. EUCUA is an association of the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party at The University of Edinburgh and is affiliated to Scottish Young Conservatives and the Union of Conservative Students. We have a distinguished alumni includi
ng many high profile political figures such as Sir Malcolm Rifkind MP; David McLetchie MSP; Eleanor Laing MP; Charles Hendry MP; The Marquess of Lothian, and Lord James Douglas-Hamilton. We exist to further the cause of the United Kingdom, as well as to promote conservative political philosophy on campus and in the surrounding area. We offer members a chance to engage in political debate and intellectual inquiry as well as enabling all to meet like-minded people and to network. EUCUA boasts a full and varied social calendar throughout the academic year ranging from informal weekly drinks to black-tie dinners, and from tours around the Scottish Parliament and City Chambers to our regular 'Port & Policy' events.
