The Angus Glens Moorland Group is a collection of rural estates throughout Angus, founded in 2015. The group demonstrates the work these sporting estates and their staff undertake for our countryside, both in Angus and Scotland as a whole, highlighting the positive impact on our local communities and businesses. This includes conservation of rare heather moorland and the wildlife which lives there.

Our picking-up teams have a huge number of dogs between them, with each one bringing its own strengths and quirks to the team.

A lot of people may simply see well-trained dogs out on a shoot day, doing their job alongside their handler…
But, what they don’t see are the hours upon hours of training, patience, hard work and dedication that has gone into getting each dog to that point. Not to mention the bond and trust built between each dog and its handler. That relationship takes time and plenty of patience.

It’s brilliant to see them back out in the hills, doing what they love and what they’ve been trained to do.🤩👏🏻

Gamekeeping is a tradition that runs deep in our rural glens. It keeps families here and, even today, sees different generations following in the same footsteps.

These two families, living in the same glen, are a great example.

The young lad pictured below has recently started his first gamekeeping job and, by chance, is now living in the very same house where his dad lived while working on a neighbouring estate some 20 years ago.

Between the two families, there are already several generations of gamekeeping experience, with two older brothers working as gamekeepers elsewhere too.

Both youngest sons are as keen as ever to follow in their big brothers’ footsteps once they leave school.

A great example of how gamekeeping is more than a job, it’s a tradition that continues through generations and helps keep our rural glens full. 🌿🏔️🧡

Whether it's repairing Argocats, maintaining beaters' trailers, or servicing pick-up trucks, this work ensures shoot days run smoothly and safely, especially in challenging weather or terrain.
