Our team of Year 5's recently competed in a regional Maths challenge competition at the Ashford Senior School.

They endured a tense 20 minutes of questioning and had to correctly answer as many questions as they could in that time. We are delighted and very proud to say that they achieved joint second out of 20 schools from the Ashford area.

They demonstrated all of the school values throughout the competition including fantastic communication and teamwork. Well done to our team from Woodpeckers!

Are you looking for something to do with your toddler?

We run a Stay and Play session on a Wednesday morning for four weeks of each term.

The sessions are free and take place in the school hall, from 9.30 – 11.30am. Parents/Carers are welcome to bring their children (0 – 5yrs old) to the session, there will be a variety of fun and educational toys, mini soft play, crafting activities and book corner etc.

It’s a great opportunity for the little ones to socialise in a calm, safe environment and for parents to make connections of their own.

Hope to see you soon!

We would like to tell you about the Eco Shop and why it is important to keep our environment clean, healthy, and safe for living things. When you buy products from our Eco Shop, you help the planet and inspire other people to reduce, reuse, and recycle too.

Your actions can encourage others to recycle and not drop litter, which helps animals live in safe and healthy habitats. Pollution can destroy many parts of our world, so we should reuse plastic bottles and bags whenever we can.

Smoke from things like factories and smoking can also make the Earth too hot. This can cause glaciers to melt and some land could be covered by water. By making small choices, like using the Eco Shop, we can all help protect our planet.

The ECO Team are busy preparing to launch the ECO Refill Shop at school on Friday 27th March from 3.00-3.30pm, to help everyone to use less plastic by refilling with some popular and well priced eco friendly household products. SCOPAY is now open to take pre-orders and will close on Wednesday 25th March.

Please remember to bring your own 500ml water bottle so our Eco Team can refill it. If you forget, spare bottles are available to buy for 50p.

Thank you,

Evie and Albert (Eco-Shop ambassadors)

It was a busy World Book Day, last Thursday in school. The children arrived in amazing, colourful costumes; a big thank you to all the parents for making this possible.

There was a whole school assembly, classes took turns to stand and show their costumes to the rest of the school and Mrs Wellard, our English lead, read a story.

Later in the day different year groups joined together for shared reading.

Year 6 were invited to Canterbury Cathedral by the Diocese to take part in a day of peace and reflection with other year 6 classes. The day was focussed around homelessness and involved prayer, thinking empathetically, and how we can make a conscious effort to support others. Some of us also took part in stone carving.

The day culminated in a Worship Service which involved reading, prayer and song.

A fantastic day was had by all, and Year 6 were excellent role models for Egerton.
