📢 Today is the LAST DAY of our "Let's talk about Transport" survey! 🚀 We want to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who shared their valuable insights, ideas, and concerns. Your input is shaping the future of transport in west Cheshire! 🌐

What's next? 🤔 In the summer of 2024, we'll adopt the final vision, priorities, and approach. 🌟 Following that, we'll develop the draft strategy and implementation plan in autumn 2024, and consult on this later in the year🗓️ Then, in 2025, we'll adopt the local transport plan, with ongoing monitoring and evaluation to ensure a dynamic, responsive transport system. 🔄

Did you know about itravel, our on-demand rural bus service pilot scheme?

It has been a tremendous success so far, revolutionising connectivity in the more remote corners of our borough! 🚍🌳

Covering areas like Helsby, Frodsham, Delamere, Acton Bridge, and other villages without commercial services, the itravel service had already completed an impressive 4114 journeys since 31st July 2023, serving 5546 passengers!🚀

If you’re interested, why not book online, via a mobile app, or a simple phone call, residents can request a bus for a specific journey!

What sets itravel apart is its flexibility; it's not tied to a fixed route, allowing quick and efficient shared trips without detours or fixed schedules. Plus, the service connects to and from train stations, enhancing overall accessibility for these areas.🚍🛤️

🌳 Discover the Green Pathways!🚶‍♂️ The over 1,267 kilometres of Public Rights of Way in our borough go beyond just leisure and recreation.🌈 They enhance community well-being, offering free physical activity and providing essential routes for children, commuters, and visitors without the need for a car. 🏞️

A safe, well-maintained, and attractive public rights of way network performs numerous functions, contributing to the physical and mental well-being of residents and visitors. 🌍💚 It eases congestion, attracts visitors, and encourages people to enjoy the green spaces close to where they live.🚶‍♀️🌟

🚴‍♂️ Exciting News from Cheshire West and Chester Council's StreetCare Service! 🌍🛣️

We're thrilled to announce that as of March 2023 we have added two e-cargo bikes to our fleet!🚲🔧

Now, city centre-based staff can effortlessly navigate Chester, while contributing to the reduction of CO2 levels in the city!

These e-cargo bikes are a game-changer, allowing staff to cover short distances swiftly and efficiently for their day-to-day tasks, all without the need for vans in the heart of Chester. 🏰

Equipped with a front container for tools and an electric motor to assist pedalling, these bikes are not only practical but also environmentally friendly. 🍃🔊

Let's applaud this eco-friendly initiative as we pave the way for a cleaner and greener Cheshire West and Chester! 🌿🚴‍♀️

Attention, Cheshire West and Chester residents! 📣

Recent data analysis from Cheshire West and Chester Council has unveiled crucial insights into road safety within our community.🚗💡 According to our findings, the people between ages 20-29 face the highest number of casualties from fatal and serious collisions, especially on A-roads. 🛣️

Between 2018-2023, a total of 43 collisions involving children under the age of 15 were reported in Cheshire West and Cheshire, with the majority occurring on C-roads.🚸

Let's help to raise more awareness about road safety, especially among the younger age groups.🤝 Share this post with your friends and family, and let's work towards making our roads safer for everyone. 🌐🚦
