The Visit Ely team had the pleasure this afternoon visiting the RAF Witchford & RAF Mepal Museum

This fully immersive experience contains artefacts, photographs, personal accounts, and historical displays, which collectively bring the museum to life. What is incredibly moving is reading and listening to the experiences of the airmen, ground crews, and local communities whose lives were shaped by these airfields during wartime.

Whether you are a local resident, a military historian, researching a family connection, or simply interested in aviation heritage, we encourage you to explore this valuable asset to our places to visit, and a place to remember all those who took part in this incredible part of British Military History.

Opposite the Museum you'll find The Apex coffee house, where you can grab a breakfast, lunch, hot drinks and more.

Please do read through the website for further information, we cannot recommend a visit highly enough. The Museum is FREE to enter, however, we would encourage when you visit to make a donation to retain the upkeep of this absolute gem!
