Members of 16 Regt RA to part in the UK 3XX Iron Warrior Challenge event which took place in Bulford.

This saw the two teams of 4 run a total of 5k carrying 20kg conducting 4 RMTs which ranged between
carrying stretchers, dragging causality bags, carrying jerry cans and jumping over obstacles.

Both teams put in the hard work showing true mental resilience, physical robustness and sheer determination, everything that is required from a soldier.

Well done ⚔️

Getting sharper with NATO 🇬🇧🤝🌍

This week, 16 Regiment RA proudly led a 7 Air Defence Group NATO Study Week — focused on deepening our understanding of how to operate seamlessly within a multinational Corps. From interoperability to integration, it was all about strengthening the conceptual and physical components of working with our NATO allies.

The week finished on a high with an inspiring address from Lt Gen Sir Ralph Wooddisse KCB CBE MC, Commander ARRC, on the Corps’ pivotal NATO role and where 7 AD Gp fits into that bigger picture.

We were also honoured by a visit from Maj Gen Olly Brown CBE, GOC 3 UK Div, who not only received briefs on how we’re increasing lethality and readiness — but also took the time to recognise excellence with commendations and an LSGC award. 👏

Stronger together. NATO ready.

This morning, the Regiment kicked off the day with Pistol Lessons 1–4, followed by Weapon Handling Tests (WHTs) and time on the range, all part of our ‘Shoot Straight’ phase in doubling our lethality. We also made sure to fit in some physical development to round off a well balanced and high impact training day.

📍 Monte Cassino, Italy
Officers and Soldiers from 16 Regiment Royal Artillery recently deployed to Monte Cassino to conduct a Battlefield Study on the pivotal WWII battles fought there.

Focusing on the components of fighting power, the study supported the CGS’ intent to deepen understanding of the profession of arms and enhance operational lethality. Working in syndicates, participants delivered back-briefs at each stand, extracting key lessons from the terrain and tactics that shaped the four battles.

The study concluded with a reflection on how the Battle of Monte Cassino opened the road to Rome—where the team wrapped up their deployment with a cultural evening in the historic city before heading home for Easter Leave. 🇮🇹🎖️✈️
