The Blaby District Local Plan sets out how Blaby District will grow over the next 17 years. It aims to deliver homes, jobs and infrastructure in the right places, while protecting what matters most to our communities. It is the main basis for deciding planning applications.
This is the final stage to make comments before the Plan is submitted for examination. Representations should focus on whether the Plan is legally compliant and sound - positively prepared, justified, effective and consistent with national policy.
Please use the Blaby District Council's online form to ensure representations are recorded accurately for the independent Planning Inspector.
Drop-in events have been arranged by the Blaby District Council to provide interested parties with information on the Local Plan, how to respond and what happens next. There will also be the opportunity to speak to planning officers. Details of venues, dates and times are below: -

The deadline for making representation is 12 noon Monday 24th August. Late responses will not be considered.

How to Make a Representation:
All comments must be submitted in writing to the Blaby District Council.
The easiest and quickest method is to use the online form on the Council's Regulation 19 consultation web page. This will ensure your representations are accurately recorded for submission to the Planning Inspector.
If you are unable to use the online form, you can request a word version of the representation form.

Representations at this stage should focus on whether the Plan is legally compliant and sound. Guidance notes have been prepared to help you make representations and these can be viewed on the District Council's website.
The Blaby District Council cannot legally accept anonymous submissions.
Following consultation, all representations are submitted to the Planning Inspectorate. For transparency and fairness, it is important that the Inspector and all other participants in the examination process are able to know who has made representations on the Plan. Please note that your name and representations will be published on the website as part of the Examination process and that this is required by legislation and therefore complies with GDPR legislation.
Notification of the Next Steps
Representations may be accompanied by a request to be notified, at a specific address, about any of the following: the Local Plan is submitted for Examination; the Inspector's Report is published; and when the Local Plan is adopted.
Any person who makes a submission during the Regulation 19 representation period will automatically be added to the Council's Local Plan consultation database and will be sent updates on the progress of the Local Plan. If you wish to be removed from this database, please contact [email protected].
