Meet our newest recruit Richard! 🚒

Richard works as a delivery driver during the day and can fit on-call hours around his work.

He said: “I’ve always wanted to be a firefighter, but at the heart of it, it’s about helping people. In my job I’m out in the community every day, and this is a way of doing something more, being there in emergencies and making a real difference when it counts.”

2025 has been an impressive and rewarding year for our team, and we are so proud of what everyone has achieved.

A huge congratulations to:
👏 Anthony Wakelin who became Watch Manager temporary at Epping Station
👏 Sam Wilson-Daines, now working as a wholetime firefighter while continuing with us, and for passing his LGV licence and becoming a Phase 3 competent Firefighter
👏 Jennifer Adelle for passing her LGV licence and becoming a Phase 3 competent Firefighter
👏 Reiss Muckley for passing his LGV licence
👏 Dan Garrett, who joined us last August, we’re very happy to have you on the team
👏 Steve. Padian, who joined us last February, we're very happy to have you on the team
👏 Chris Widdick for passing his Phase 2 development Firefighter
👏 Matt Gore, who is currently completing his Level 1 one skills for justice qualification, we wish you the very best of luck!

Crews tackled a thatched roof fire in Hatfield Broad Oak.
We were called on the 31st of December at 3.20pm and 10 crews along with an aerial ladder platform and water bowser were at the scene.

Thank you to everyone who came along to see Santa and visit us — it was truly magical to see you all there! 🎄✨

A huge thank you for your generosity. We raised an amazing £1,100 for Epping Food Bank, The Fire Fighters Charity, and our Service’s Christmas Mission Gift Appeal.

Thank you to everyone who gave their time to help make the day so special. A special thank you to Cherry McCredie for her continued support, Karen Patience and the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust, Crafts by Becci, John and his incredible firefighter toys, Polly Put the Kettle On for the delicious handmade cakes, Mariah with her delicious donuts, sweets, and candy floss, and of course our wonderful Santa (Russell), who brought so much joy and so many smiles to both children and adults alike. 🎅❤️

A huge thank you to our beautiful Epping community who joined us yesterday for Remembrance Sunday. It was truly emotional to see so many of you come together — this day means so much to us, and we’re deeply grateful to have shared it with you. ❤️

We remember all those who gave their lives to protect others, and those who continue to serve with courage and dedication every day.
