The definition of Grey Belt is being abused to allow development on Green Belt. The petition on the link below is well worth signing!

The grey belt was introduced as a measure to enable building on poor quality Green Belt such as old car parks, abandoned petrol stations and scrub. We are concerned the planning rules are framed in such a way that high quality Green Belt can be lost to development.

An update on the fundraiser to protect Green Belt land at Downs Farm, Reigate Road, Ewell. More than £6000 raised in just over a week!

A campaign has been launched to prevent a major development of up to 656 homes on Green Belt land at Downs Farm, Reigate Road, Epsom. The target is to raise £25,000 in two phases.

The fundraiser to protect Downs Farm from development has had a great start. In a short time, £3465 has been raised from 30 donors. Legal action is required to protect Green Belt land. All donations are welcome!

There are real concerns on the lack of infrastructure to support more than 600 homes.

CPRE is raising major issues on the updated NPPF, which impacts planning policy.

We are running a letter writing campaign to raise awareness of the danger posed by the draft National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF). Unless it is revised, this document will cause irrevocable damage and destruction to green spaces.

In a recent column for The Argus, Nancy Duckels explores our concerns around sewage, affordable housing and climate change in more detail. She also highlights the value of the countryside and green spaces – both for our health and the economy.

A major development of more than 600 homes is in preparation at Downs Farm, Reigate Road, Ewell. This is on prime farmland in the Green Belt. A fund has been created to challenge the legality of the planning process that has been used by Epsom & Ewell Borough Council. The justification of the development is very questionable. There is no infrastructure
to support the development.

Any assistance to help prevent the development of Downs Farm will be much appreciated. A fundraiser has started to allow a legal challenge to be raised to block the development. The wildlife that live on Downs Farm need your help!
